Great Odin's throw of the Eternal Spear was like a horn sounding the charge. One god after another descended from the Golden Palace.

Thor was the first to move.

The most warlike god in Norse Mythology leaped down and landed on the ground. He raised Mjolnir, and the whole world darkened. Thick clouds blotted out the sun and moon. Thunder rolled as lightning struck from the clouds and spread in every direction, bathing the world in Lightning. Weaker Undead were instantly charred to ash, becoming nourishment for the earth.

If Zeus's Thunderbolt was judgment, a sentence handed down as a symbol of the King of the Gods, then Thor's Thunderbolt was pure destruction. Any Undead or Giants it struck met only one fate: utter annihilation.

"Thor."

Hela, Goddess of death, stood high on a bleak, mournful ship and looked down at Thor. Garm rose from his crouch beside her, bared his teeth at the thunder god, and barked.

At the sight of Hela, anger flashed in Thor's Lightning-wreathed eyes. "Where is Loki?" he demanded.

"I'm here."

Loki, his face disfigured by the gods' torment, stood aboard another ship and watched Thor with deep mockery in his eyes.

"Loki!"

Thor's expression darkened at Loki's appearance. The bravest warrior in Norse Mythology roared with Wrath, glaring at Loki as though his eyes could spit fire. If looks could kill gods, Loki would have died ten thousand times over.

Without a moment's hesitation, Thor raised his hammer. Endless lightning descended from the sky onto Mjolnir, then surged forth as a massive Thunderbolt, carrying all the force of his rage, and swallowed Loki whole.

"Do Thor and Loki really hate each other that much? In the Avengers, I thought they were pretty close. They had that love-hate thing going on."
