Some drivers, frustrated by the slow traffic, swerved onto the sidewalks and floored the accelerator without caring whether anyone was in their path, drawing a storm of curses.

On some buses, passengers saw their drivers still crawling along and, driven by desperation, lunged for the steering wheel and accelerator. The people beside them made no move to stop them. Instead, their faces showed a mixture of relief and gratitude.

Residents burst from the shops where they worked and the homes where they lived, running as though zombies were on their heels. Wreckage was everywhere. It looked like Doomsday had arrived.

In Norse Mythology, the sun was actually Sól and her sun chariot, not Blue Star's sun. In theory, after falling, it should turn into a goddess's corpse and a chariot that might break apart. But looking at that enormous blazing Great Sun, who would bet their life that it would become a goddess's corpse before it struck Big Apple City?
