Outside the moon that ceaselessly orbited the Main Plane, a golden figure appeared and came to a halt.

As she appeared, darkness thick as ink spread around her. Jiang Hao found that he could no longer see beyond it, and even the threads of Faith between him and his Believers grew indistinct.
But Jiang Hao felt no alarm.
He placed a hand over his chest like a gentleman and performed the customary greeting of Otherworld's nobility. "Esteemed Lady of Night, thank you for looking after me all this time. I'm deeply grateful."
"I only used you to make trouble for that Serpent." The Lady of Night's voice came from behind her black veil.
Her voice was like moonlight, soft and cool.
"But it's still an undeniable fact that you helped me," Jiang Hao replied.
What mattered was what she had done, not why. Whatever her reasons, the Lady of Night had helped him.
He went on, "Your Highness, may I ask you a few questions? Of course, you may ask something of equal value in return. I'll do everything I can to fulfill your request."
"You may."
The Lady of Night nodded her assent.
"Thank you, my lady."
Jiang Hao thanked her. After a moment's thought, he asked his first question.
"What is Primal Force?"
"Primal Force is the universe's original source, the beginning of all things and the mother of all things..." the Lady of Night answered.
