"This used to be a barren wasteland. There were no buildings, not even a blade of grass." Though reluctant at first, the man who called himself Cheldan had, after some friendly persuasion from Jiang Hao, finally taken up his duties as a guide. He calmly gave the visitor a cordial introduction.
He said proudly,
"We residents of Hallhorst City built this place brick by brick with our own hands and sweat."
Jiang Hao nodded and smiled at him, making no move to point out that this was the Dream World, a place where thought became reality.
Why would anyone build a city with their own hands here?
Even if someone wanted to, an entire city's population would not do it. Nor could human hands have created a city this bizarre.
Cheldan caught Jiang Hao's smile and faltered. He changed the subject. "In this world, people can do almost anything, but you need to follow a few Rules. Break them and you might be expelled from this world—or, worse, disappear from the Dream World along with your real-world self."
"First, you must not harm anyone in any way."
"Second, you must not cause a major disaster in the Dream World."
"Third, you must not try to use Summoning to bring creatures, avatars, or projections from other Planes into the Dream World."
"Fourth, you must not speak any god's name. Not even the name of the god you worship."

Was the ban on harming others meant to keep a murderer from slaughtering everyone in the Dream World? The rule against causing a major disaster was probably there to prevent damage to the world. Though a dream could theoretically be restored in an instant, its destruction would still be unpleasant for everyone else.
