The Olympian Gods had chosen Olympus Holy Mountain as the site of their palaces, where they dwelled and ruled the world. To Greeks, and to every nation and people shaped by Indo-European culture, it had always been the most sacred and inviolable home of the gods.
Over thousands of years, Olympus Holy Mountain had seen countless upheavals. It had even become a place where heretical faiths flaunted themselves.
But after the Olympian Gods returned and made their presence known in Asgard, the realm of the Norse Gods, Greeks and nations shaped by Indo-European Peoples culture alike regarded the mountain as their own holy ground and the Olympian Gods as their nations' gods.
After all, in this day and age, if you failed to cling to a group of gods, your only choice was to fade into the background.
And even then, you could not simply choose which gods to cling to.
How many years had the United States spent trying to cling to God? Its people proclaimed themselves God's children and gave him all the glory. But had the Papal State answered them? Had the Earthly Angels? Had the omniscient, omnipotent God ever spared the United States so much as a glance?
