Winter Month had arrived.
"Phew..."
Chen Shu held a plastic bag in his left hand and a Handheld Scale in his right.
Inside the bag was a Longhaired White Cat. The bag held her fast, the pink pads of her four little paws pressed against the clear plastic. All she could do was gaze pleadingly at Chen Shu as he lifted her and hung the bag from the Handheld Scale.
Xiaoxiao stood beside them. She had just been playing with the white puffs of her breath; now she craned her neck to peer at the Handheld Scale.
Peach blinked.
For some reason, the scene reminded her of when the weather had first turned a tiny bit cooler. They had gone crayfish fishing and weighed their catch just like this.
The crayfish had been delicious that day.
"Rustle, rustle, rustle..."
Peach could not help struggling.
Cats had dignity too.
"Hold still."
Peach immediately stopped moving and looked up at him with pleading eyes.
She had dignity. Just not very much.
"Four jin and eight liang!"
Chen Shu called it out at the top of his lungs.
Now it felt even more like weighing crayfish.
Peach had no idea how much four jin and eight liang was, but she committed it to memory anyway.
Only then was she put down.
"Whimper~"
Was life as a cat always this undignified? Or was it only like this before Transformation?
Peach looked toward the doorway a few meters away. Her mistress stood there silently, watching them. She seemed to have eyes that could see through the world, yet Peach's plight left her unmoved.
"Xiaoxiao, your turn."
"Okay."
The little girl stood with her back against the wall, straightening up and lifting her chest and chin as though stretching her spine and neck to their limits.
