Meng Chunqiu: I'm the only one who didn't go / feeling left out
Highness Cinnabar liked your post.
Highness Cinnabar: Mr. Chen Shu, may I ask if this "friend" you mentioned is actually you? Because if so, I'm interested.
Group Leader replied to Highness Cinnabar: I'd advise you to delete that.
Meng Chunqiu replied to Highness Cinnabar: It's over. I have a feeling I'm about to lose a cousin.
Chen Shu held his phone and glanced sideways—
Qingqing leaned slightly toward him, her head tilted a little too far as she peered at his screen from the corner of her eye. Her face gave nothing away.
Chen Shu immediately put his phone away and grinned. "Well? Feeling threatened now?"
"Hah..."
Ning Qing glanced at him, then looked away.
"Hah? What's that supposed to mean?" Chen Shu protested, pointing at her. "You're manipulating me!"
"..."
Ning Qing couldn't be bothered with him. She got up and headed upstairs.
Chen Shu exchanged a look with the young girl, said, "I'm going to deal with her," and followed her upstairs.
"Woof!"
At once, Peach jumped off the sofa and trotted after them on quick, eager paws, wanting to watch the fun. A few steps later, she remembered Xiaoxiao hadn't followed. She stopped and looked back, giving the young girl a soft bark.
"Whuff~"
"Don't go, Lady Peach."
"Baa?"
"Come back."
The young girl beckoned to her.
Looking puzzled, Peach glanced at her, then toward the stairs where Uncle Chen had gone. At last, still half doubtful, she walked back and jumped onto the sofa.
The young girl held her close, running a small hand through her fur from the back of her neck to the tip of her tail.
Peach was still a child. She wasn't anymore.
