Ch. 2661A New Era
Key plot points and events
- After explaining the situation, Meng Chuan leaves the First Origin Point with Ye Fan and the others. His connection to the Origin Point will let him know when its evolution is complete, so waiting offers him little benefit.
- His departure puzzles the other Limitless Ones. Primordial Beginning speculates that Meng Chuan may be injured, drawing pointed looks from the others—and the Demon of the Dao’s Opposition—because Meng Chuan had decisively defeated the Demon.
- Nuwa and Pangu recognize Meng Chuan’s reasoning. Pangu notes that the other Limitless Ones can rely on their connection to Meng Chuan as a signal to return. He leaves with the Ancestral Dragon, Ancestral Phoenix, and other innate divinities, intending to repay those who helped restore him.
- The remaining Limitless Ones also depart, while the Chaos Ones divide between leaving and staying in hopes of gaining something from the Origin Point’s evolution.
- Pangu’s return and Meng Chuan’s rise mark the end of the Limitless Ones’ long withdrawal. The Great Dao’s restrictions on them have ended, making their renewed influence over the Chaos Sea possible.
Character developments and interactions
- Meng Chuan shows confidence and detachment: he sees no need to wait when he can return at the right moment.
- Pangu acts with gratitude toward the Ancestral Dragon and Ancestral Phoenix, acknowledging the sacrifices they made for his return. He also values their strength as allies.
- The Limitless Ones demonstrate trust in their ties to Meng Chuan, treating his return as a likely sign that the Origin Point’s evolution matters again.
- Primordial Beginning’s remark about possible injury is interpreted as a deliberate jab at the defeated Demon of the Dao’s Opposition.
Significant themes
- A new era of power: With the Limitless Ones free to reenter the world, the Chaos Sea may return to an age dominated by their rivalries and grand schemes.
- The cost of power politics: Chaos Ones fear that active Limitless Ones could trigger conflicts in which even Chaos Ones can die.
- Connection and trust: Meng Chuan’s bond with the Origin Point—and the other Limitless Ones’ bond with him—offers a practical alternative to waiting blindly.
- Gratitude and allegiance: Pangu’s return is accompanied by a personal obligation to those who helped him, as well as recognition of their value as allies.
The chapter contrasts the relative safety Chaos Ones enjoyed while Limitless Ones stayed secluded with the dangerous, politically charged age that may now begin.
