Arc 14Gotham’s Nuclear Crisis
Yongye defied government orders to enter Gotham, where he rescued Batman, defeated the Joker’s forces, and stopped the nuclear-bomb threat. He left Batman discredited, gained new powers, and gave Lois Lane an exclusive interview under his own conditions.
- Yongye killed Zod, then condemned Superman for the casualties and damage before publicly blaming him and criticizing Wonder Woman’s absence.
- Yongye threatened officials opposing him, while Tony Stark revived Ultron and Batman began seeking intelligence to build armor capable of defeating Yongye.
- Yongye appointed Sharon Carter as his secretary, accepted Wonder Woman’s challenge, and later launched a public poll on whether he should intervene in Gotham.
- After the poll backed intervention, Yongye ignored orders from Grand Commander Aoniu and General Lane, disguised himself as Minato Namikaze, and flew to Gotham.
- Yongye found Batman chained and injured in an abandoned vault, fought Talia al Ghul’s Shadow Assassins, healed Batman, and agreed to draw attention while Batman approached the bomb’s control terminal.
- Yongye defeated Bane and the Joker Gang at Central Square, then destroyed Joker’s Anti-Yongye Armor as Joker threatened to detonate the nuclear bomb.
- Joker pressed the detonator, but Minato Namikaze revealed the bomb and remote had been tampered with, ending the crisis and leaving Batman’s reputation in tatters.
- Yongye received the Nail-Head Seven Arrows Book, then granted Lois Lane an exclusive interview at his apartment and claimed the Watchers secretly guarded peace in the universe.
