As if sensing the disaster to come, dark clouds gathered around Sea God Island. Fierce winds swept across the sea, countless waves battered the reefs, and the water level slowly rose.
At the Sea God Hall atop the mountain, Bo Saixi stood quietly, watching the people below board the ships one by one, preparing to set sail for the Douluo Continent.
"Phew..."
Bo Saixi let out a soft breath, gripped the scepter in her hand, and quietly waited for disaster to descend.
"May the Sea God protect them and let them reach the mainland safely."
"Almost ready!"
Outside the ships, Sea Dragon Douluo contacted the other Sacred Pillar Douluo. "Everyone on Sea God Island has boarded, right?"
"Yes. We've finished counting. Everyone's aboard."
Sea Spear Douluo nodded, a shadow passing through his eyes. "Except... the High Priestess."
At the mention of Bo Saixi, everyone fell silent. They wanted to remain with Sea God Island too, but the islanders were depending on them. They could not act on impulse.
"By the way, what about the Demon Soul Great White Sharks?"
Sea Dragon Douluo suddenly remembered Xiao Bai, the Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in the waters around Sea God Island. "Have they left?"
"They have."
Sea Goddess Douluo nodded. "After helping us bring the islanders aboard, they left."
"They're Sea Soul Beasts. They're better equipped to survive in the ocean than we are. There's no need to worry."
Sea Dragon Douluo looked out at the sea ahead. "True. Then let's... set off."
"Mm."
Sea Spear Douluo nodded. He took one last look at Sea God Island, then slowly lowered his hand. "Everyone, get ready. Set sail!"
The next moment, several enormous ships raised their sails under the crew's control and headed for the Douluo mainland.
Hundreds of millions of miles away, Bei Mingyuan swept his divine sense over Sea God Island, taking in everything that happened there.
"They actually ran?"
Bei Mingyuan chuckled. "I'm not some ravenous beast. Why are they so afraid?"
"Sea God Island is a wonderful place. I wasn't planning to destroy it. That would spoil the fun."
With that, Bei Mingyuan slowly swept his enormous kun tail, heaving tens of millions of tons of seawater into towering waves that crashed all around him.
Boom!
Each sweep sent Bei Mingyuan faster. The water around him was forced apart in an instant by his speed.
Currents overturned. Tsunamis seemed no bigger than ripples, deep-sea whirlpools crumbled before Bei Mingyuan, and the entire ocean submitted beneath him.
Countless sea beasts scattered at the slightest trace of Bei Mingyuan's presence, wishing they could grow a few more tails to flee faster.
Two days passed quickly. Bei Mingyuan had covered most of the distance, leaving only a few tens of thousands of nautical miles between him and Sea God Island.
"It's time."
In the Northern Underworld Empire, Bei Mingxue rose from her throne. "My ministers, Sea God Island is just ahead. Who will lead the vanguard?"
"Your Majesty!"
General Long Wei stepped forward at once. "I have experience traveling to the Sun Moon Continent for diplomatic exchange. I'm the best choice!"
Beside him, Di Huaiying smiled and stepped forward. "Your Majesty, General Long Wei is right. With his experience on the Sun Moon Continent, I'm sure he can complete this mission successfully too."
Bei Mingxue looked at General Long Wei and nodded. "Very well, General Long Wei. I'll leave this to you. You must take Sea God Island!"
"Yes!"
General Long Wei swept his cloak behind him and departed with his orders.
In the abyss beneath the sea, Bei Mingyuan opened his enormous, full-moon-shaped eyes and gazed toward the waters ahead.
"We're almost at Sea God Island. In that case, Bei Miao, you're going this time."
"You forgot all about me when you went to the Sun Moon Continent. Now that you need someone to charge into battle, you remember me."
As he spoke, a black light appeared in Bei Mingyuan's sea of consciousness, and a handsome man dressed in black materialized there.
"Cut the chatter. You're my avatar. Just do as I say."
Bei Mingyuan could not be bothered with him. Did he not know his own temperament?
"Fine. You're the original. You're the boss!"
Bei Miao snorted and held out his hand. "The Black Rhinoceros Summoner!"
"It's in the Northern Underworld Empire's temple. Go ask for it yourself!"
Bei Mingyuan rolled his eyes within his sea of consciousness and swatted Bei Miao out with a single slap.
"Not one of these guys gives me a moment's peace."
Bei Mingyuan shook his head helplessly.
To explain Bei Miao, one had to look back a hundred thousand years.
A hundred thousand years ago, Bei Mingyuan had grown so bored that an idea suddenly struck him: he wanted to visit the mainland.
But his body was already enormous then, and if he took human form, the continent on his back would suffer disaster.
So he came up with a novel idea and fashioned seven avatars from seven facets of his personality.
He named these avatars after the five armor wielders from the first season of Armor Hero, according to his own tastes.
There was Xin Nan, who embodied composure; Dong Shan, confidence; Bei Miao, arrogance; Kun Zhong, warmth; and Xi Zhao, aloofness.
Each avatar's Martial Soul was the one represented by his armor. Finding Soul Beasts whose attributes and species matched them exactly had taken Bei Mingyuan quite some time.
After that, Bei Mingyuan used these avatars to travel the mainland and encounter all manner of strange and fascinating things.
The avatars had also contributed a great deal to unifying the Northern Underworld Continent.
Before he knew it, tens of thousands more years had passed. Eventually, contact was established with the Sun Moon Continent, and methods for making Soul Tools reached the Northern Underworld Empire.
Bei Mingyuan then began researching Battle Armor to recreate the Armor Heroes in full. Through his efforts, One-Word Battle Armor, Two-Word Battle Armor, and more were developed.
Though becoming a Three-Word Battle Armor Master was incredibly difficult, a few had emerged here and there.
As for anything beyond four-word Battle Armor, that relied on Bei Mingyuan's own technology. The Northern Underworld Empire could not reproduce it.
In other words, only Bei Mingyuan's five avatars possessed four-word Battle Armor.
When not in battle, the five sets of armor were kept in the Northern Underworld Empire's temple and taken out only when needed.
"Everyone on Sea God Island, I hope you like this gift."
Bei Mingyuan smiled, closed his eyes again, and linked his mind to his avatar.
"That bastard. He's ruthless even to himself."
Outside the Northern Underworld Empire, Bei Miao snapped his eyes open and snorted. "Are you there? Let's go!"
Bei Mingyuan: "Getting mad at myself? I must be the first. Hurry up!"
"Tch!"
Bei Miao curled his lip and strode into North Nether City. Before long, he reached the temple.
Looking at the Kunpeng Statue inside the temple, Bei Miao stepped forward. "Old bastard, I'm here to shake some coins out of you!"
"Who are you?"
Hearing Bei Miao's brazen words, the people around him glared at him in fury.
"You dare disrespect the Founder? You've got some nerve!"
