Personality
Tang Lie is hot-tempered and fiercely protective of the Clear Sky Sect’s reputation. After hearing that its disciples were beaten, he rushes to confront the alleged attacker before Tang Wei can finish urging an investigation. Although initially cautious during his pursuit, he becomes openly contemptuous once he identifies Li Qingshan as a newly advanced Soul Saint, refusing to hear his explanation of the dispute 24 25.
His pride becomes a vulnerability in battle. Li Qingshan’s illusion shows him defeating his opponent and receiving admiration from the disciples and approval from Tang Wei. Tang Lie’s satisfaction interrupts his concentration, creating the opening for a disabling sword strike 26.

Pursuit of Li Qingshan
Tang Lie first appears at the Clear Sky Sect’s mountain gate alongside Fifth Elder Tang Wei. Returning disciples claim that a young man stole their Soul Beast meat and blood and beat one of them. Tang Lie rejects their suggestion that the attacker might be a roughly twenty-year-old Titled Douluo, attributing the frightening aura to trickery. Ignoring Tang Wei’s request to establish the facts, he summons his hammer and charges down the mountain 24.
After asking at the city gate, he follows Li Qingshan’s departing carriage along the official road. Li intercepts him after sending Yu Xiaogang onward. Tang Lie dismisses Li’s explanation that the disciples attempted to seize goods he had already purchased, demanding that he endure two hammer blows before they talk. He then reveals his seven Soul Rings 25.
Defeat by Delusion and Fury
Tang Lie mocks Li’s claim to be the level-99 Love Sword Douluo and attacks. After Li evades through spatial movement, Tang Lie activates Clear Sky True Body to strike the surrounding area. Li counters with Delusion, strengthened by a wisp of Limit Douluo Spiritual Power, trapping him in an imagined victory 26.
Li teleports beside him and attacks with the Fury-empowered Passionate Sword. Tang Lie recognizes the danger too late: the strike severs one arm, while its emotional flames cause severe mental agony and disrupt his Martial Soul Avatar.
