Background and History

Li arrives in the Douluo world more than thirty years before Tang San’s birth, inhabiting the body of a twenty-year-old itinerant swordsman. The body’s original owner earned a living hunting Soul Beasts and escorting caravans. Li gains two systems: one gradually turns believed lies into reality, while the other rewards him for taking disciples and changing their development or fate 1.

He waits more than ten days near the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan to meet the comic-world Yu Xiaogang. Li chooses him for his persistence and research despite poor innate talent, but also hopes that helping Luo Sanpao evolve will yield substantial system rewards. To win Yu’s trust, he claims to be the level-99 Love Sword Douluo with twin sword Martial Souls. Yu questions the claim; as his belief grows, parts of Li’s invented identity become real 1 2 3.

After Yu becomes his disciple, Li delays his First Soul Ring to strengthen his body with Whale Rubber. He then tests measured portions of dragon meat and blood on Luo Sanpao, whose first dragon scales provide evidence of evolution. Li selects a roughly 760-year-old Holy Light Earth Dragon for Yu’s First Soul Ring because its bloodline suits Sanpao’s development; Yu successfully absorbs it and gains Sacred Dragon Breath 4 5 7 11 12 13 14.

Li later uses a short-lived spiritual incarnation to meet Yu’s father and clan elders without bringing his true body before them. Their belief sharply advances his claimed identity and raises him to level 70—not level 99. He sets out with Yu toward Heaven Dou City, intending to seek Immortal Herbs in Sunset Forest for Sanpao’s further evolution. On the journey, a dispute over purchased Soul Beast meat leads to a confrontation with the Clear Sky Sect elder Tang Lie 18 20 22 25 26.

Li presents himself as composed and authoritative, but privately calculates how to build belief in his claimed identity. He is willing to bluff, yet avoids tests that could expose the gap between his actual cultivation and level 99. He leaves a market dispute promptly when his brief aura display cannot soon be repeated, and sends Yu ahead before facing Tang Lie both for Yu’s safety and to keep his true strength hidden 2 17 24 25.

His mentorship is also practical. He values Yu’s effort, checks the results of training, limits Sanpao’s feeding rather than rushing it, and credits Yu’s own work after the successful Soul Ring absorption 4 11 13 14.
