• Each clone can carry a portion of his Soul Power for a short time, giving it detectable Soul Power fluctuations 3.
• The number deployed varies: Ling Yun later creates three clones alongside his real body during the battle against the Shrek Seven Devils 27.
• Struck or restrained doubles dissolve into splashes or flowing water 4 19.

Decoys and Counterattacks

• Draws attacks onto false targets while Ling Yun approaches from another direction. Tang San’s Entanglement and Dai Mubai’s White Tiger Fierce Light Wave both strike water doubles instead of him 4.
• Can present several false targets without placing the real Ling Yun among them. Tang San twice mistakes the last remaining figure for the real body 4 24.
• Supports close-range feints: one double punches Dai Mubai with little force while Ling Yun attacks from behind 5.
• Diverts attention long enough for Ling Yun to prepare terrain. During the captaincy contest, clones distract Dai Mubai while Ling Yun gradually spreads water across the field 19.

Physical Support and Skill Combinations

• Water Shuriken: Five figures form shurikens and launch them toward Dugu Bo from different angles 7.
• Wave Treading: The watery figures move together across water, creating multiple fast-moving targets 7.
• Aerial positioning: Ling Yun steps onto a water shadow’s shoulder to launch himself above Dai Mubai 5.
• Heaven and Earth Reversal: Three water shadows overlap with Ling Yun as he forms the rotating water shield used to intercept Dugu Bo’s attack 7.
• Mist Veil: Clone signatures mingle with the fog’s misleading Soul Power fluctuations, making the real body harder to identify even with Tang San’s Purple Demon Eye 15 17.

Limits and Counterplay

• Soul Power carried by individual clones is temporary; their signatures do not establish that they are the real Ling Yun 3.
• Their offensive force is not consistently equal to his: Dai Mubai blocks a clone’s punch and immediately recognizes its lack of power 5.
• Greater raw power can destroy them easily. Dugu Bo bursts several water shadows with sweeping Soul Power attacks 7.
• Physical traces can help expose Ling Yun’s position. Tang San tracks movement across the water rather than relying solely on Soul Power signatures 23.
• Ling Yun cannot use Water Shadow Clone inside the mental space created by the Darkwater Shadow Leopard’s Soul Shock 15.
