Tang San and Ling Yun awakened their Martial Souls in Holy Soul Village and entered Nuoding Academy together. Yu Xiaogang accepted Tang San as a disciple but declined to teach Ling Yun. Tang San defended his new teacher when Ling Yun challenged that decision, beginning a dispute that remained unresolved when the boys met again seven years later 1 2.

By their reunion at Blue Tyrant Academy, Tang San was a Shrek student. He lost his first spar with Ling Yun without landing a meaningful hit, then began studying Ling Yun’s movement and combat habits for their later matches 4 23 24.

Appearance

Personality

Tang San is fiercely loyal to Yu Xiaogang and protective of Xiao Wu. He initially answers Ling Yun’s criticism of his teacher without investigating the old grievance, but later supports Ling Yun’s argument that Blue Tyrant Academy should not be renamed without its community’s consent 2 18. After Xiao Wu is injured, he acknowledges that her attack after surrendering was wrong while still challenging Ling Yun over the force of his response 22 23.

In combat, he studies opponents and revises his tactics after defeat. Ling Yun’s taunts can unsettle him, particularly when they concern Xiao Wu, though Tang San recognizes the attempts to provoke him 17 23 24.
