Background

Ye Xishui was Long Yuan’s disciple and a senior figure in the Holy Spirit Cult he reformed. When the cult was transported ten thousand years into the past, she arrived in Heaven Dou City with Long Xiaoyao, Tang Ya, and Ma Xiaotao. She used a communication Soul Tool to locate Long Yuan and confirm what had happened 1 3 6.

She had concealed her love for Long Yuan for years while he was married to Gu Yuena in their own era. In the past, she tells him openly that she wants to be known as Ye Xishui rather than only as his disciple. Long Yuan promises not to forget her, but does not give her a definitive romantic answer 4 31 35.

After visiting the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Ye Xishui takes responsibility for rebuilding the displaced Holy Spirit Cult. Its members have arrived intact, but its territory, businesses, and Soul Tool workshops remain in the future. On Long Yuan’s advice, she travels to Spirit City to learn Spirit Hall’s position and seek land for a new base 35 36.

Personality

Ye Xishui is direct, ambitious, and protective of the Holy Spirit Cult. She chooses to establish a base for its displaced members rather than accompany Long Yuan immediately to see Gu Yuena. She is confident enough to challenge Spirit Hall’s pope, but agrees to stake Soul Core knowledge on her duel with Qian Daoliu rather than demand territory without terms 35 36 51.

Her affection for Long Yuan is attentive and increasingly candid. She searches for him after their arrival, admits her jealousy of Gu Yuena, and insists that their former master–disciple relationship should not prevent him from seeing her as a woman 4 9 20 35.
