Chapter 1122: Officer
Stella swayed as she tried to support Pakart, but she lost her footing herself. Fortunately, Hesta caught her by the shoulder and kept her from falling.
"I'll do it, I'll do it," Simoya said, getting to her feet. "You all keep eating. I'll go with Professor Pakart."
A fierce wind howled outside, and the sudden night gale sent a chill through Simoya.
"Why is the wind so strong—"
"Maybe it's going to rain," Hesta said.
Victoria sat in the driver's seat, the headlights blazing and illuminating the small road from the studio to the main thoroughfare.
After helping Pakart into the car, Hesta circled around to the passenger seat.
The engine started. Tilting her head, Simoya asked, "...Who exactly are we picking up today, if it takes both of you to go meet them?"
Before the two Quicksilver Needles in front could answer, Simoya turned back to Pakart. "Are your two students famous educators too?"
"Not famous," Pakart replied. She looked at Hesta with some confusion as well. "Why are you two going together to pick them up?"
"Oh, we're not going for your two students," Victoria answered with a smile. "An old friend of ours came too."
"Who?"
"A police officer."
At the farm entrance, Officer Silei and her two companions had all gotten out of the car. They stood facing the farm road, looking inward.
Before long, Silei shone her flashlight on the sign at the entrance. The two people beside her glanced over at the same time.
"...A Farm of Many Women."
They all laughed—the name was pretty good!
A car horn sounded in the distance. Hesta leaned out and waved at Silei. "Silei—!"
Silei switched off her flashlight and walked forward.
Once the car came to a stop, Hesta jumped out briskly.
