Zoe's expression turned somewhat subtle. She took a moment to process Hesta's answer before speaking again. "So... you went to all the trouble of founding a party, and the only Quicksilver Needles in it are you?"

"Yes."

"Then why did you even create an organization like this—when no one is coming at all?"

"They will." Hesta answered calmly. "At some point in the future."

"...At some point? What point?"

Hesta had already turned her gaze back to the documents on the desk. She opened the file she had not finished signing earlier and picked up her pen again.

"A special moment," Hesta answered quietly, her voice carrying a detached coldness. "Maybe it will still be a long time away, but maybe it is not so far off."

Zoe immediately let out a derisive sound. She had always regarded this sort of riddle-like conversation as a way of telling someone to leave—might as well have just said, "Get out."

"Then I hope your special moment comes soon." Zoe pressed her fingers together and gave Hesta a stiff wave. "See you."

The door quickly shut, leaving Hesta alone in the room once more.

Hesta's pen stopped almost at the same moment. She stared blankly at the desk for a while, then rose and went to stand by the window.
