When Ma Xiaotao realized she had gotten the wrong idea, her face flushed crimson. She wished she could dive into the bushes beside her.
The others could only struggle to hold back their laughter. None of them wanted to provoke the hot-tempered Ma Xiaotao.
Even so, they had their doubts about what Lu Yi had said.
"Lu Yi, be more specific. What danger is there in the operation ahead?" Wang Yan asked.
As the teacher leading the team, he was responsible for keeping his students safe.
Lu Yi lowered his head again and studied the leaves on the ground. "I foresee heavy losses in this operation, perhaps even serious casualties. The danger will most likely come from some strange ability the enemy possesses."
"Stop trying to frighten everyone with wild claims!"
Dai Yueheng could not listen any longer. "The intelligence gathered by my father's agents clearly shows that the enemy leader is only a Soul King. And with Xuan Zi watching over us, what danger could there be?"
That's exactly the problem. Xuan Zi is the one watching over us!
"Senior Dai, I'm not questioning the duke's intelligence. I'm only reminding everyone to be careful. If you don't believe me, just take it as a bit of entertainment."
A smile appeared on Lu Yi's face as he turned toward Yao Haoxuan, the smallest of the Main Team Members. "Especially you, Senior Yao. I see a dark shadow over your brow. You'd best take care."
Yao Haoxuan had not expected Lu Yi to single him out, but he heard concern rather than a curse in his words. He nodded without saying anything.
"Then you'd better hide well when the time comes. We'll show you what a real thunderous assault looks like!"
With that parting remark, Ma Xiaotao turned and walked away.
