Lu Yi woke early as the sun rose.
Looking out from the villa nestled halfway up the lush mountainside, he could see all of bustling Nine Treasures City and a vast lake.
For a moment, the view gave him the illusion that he was back in the Ravenclaw Common Room atop Hogwarts Castle.
Lu Yi ate the breakfast the chef had prepared for him, then went out.
As usual, Ning Tian had started practicing the Core Array early that morning. Lu Yi did not disturb her studies.
His first stop was Nine Treasures City.
As the continent's most commercially developed city, it did not take him long to find the lumber market after asking around.
At every shop, he asked only one question: "Do you have any materials from Plant-type Soul Beasts?" Almost every answer was no.
Plant-type Soul Beasts made up a small portion of the Soul Beast Realm, and tree-type ones were rarer still.
There were a few exceptionally powerful individuals, though—such as the Demon-Eyed Tree, the Blue Silver Emperor, and the Blue Silver King. The latter two were vines, but their true forms looked much like trees.
Lu Yi also knew of some trees that were not Plant-type Soul Beasts but were bound to possess magic.
Elder Yi, for instance, had explicitly told him that Wenlan Tree, which benefited Evil Soul Masters in their cultivation, could be made into Wands suited to casting Necromancy Magic. Another was the Golden Ancient Tree.
After searching tirelessly, however, Lu Yi still managed to find a handful of logs cut from trees that had become Soul Beasts. They were about to be made into furniture.
The logs were all different kinds of wood, each from a tree that had beaten thousand-to-one odds to become a Soul Beast. Lu
