Tang Fei took care of Clown, Phoenix took care of Snake Woman, and Old Man had taken care of Shan He as well.
Only Little Fatty was still fighting Flying Dagger for his life.
As his name suggested, Flying Dagger specialized in knives—nine flying daggers, to be exact.
Like a magician performing tricks, he controlled the nine flying daggers as they relentlessly attacked Little Fatty, slashing, chopping, stabbing, and slicing from every direction, whirling through the air.
Little Fatty swung a sledgehammer used for smashing rocks, putting every ounce of strength into sealing off his entire body. Yet he still could not break Flying Dagger's offensive.
It was easy to imagine what would happen before long. Once Little Fatty was exhausted and his defense showed an opening, Flying Dagger would cleanly take his life.
Worried about Little Fatty's safety, Tang Fei wanted to go help, but Old Man grabbed him and pulled him back.
"What are you doing?" Tang Fei glared at Old Man in dissatisfaction. "If I don't step in now, Little Fatty is going to get turned into sashimi."
"Really?" Old Man looked expectant. "This brat is all soft and tender."
"..."
Did you hear yourself?
"Little Fatty isn't that man's match." Phoenix walked over as well, her face full of concern.
She truly cared about Little Fatty. She could feel that he had been sincerely kind to her.
Tang Fei was her partner, but as for Old Man...
She always felt that Old Man held a faint hostility toward her, as though he were concealing some emotion.
Of course, she had no way to know whether that feeling was right.
Perhaps Old Man simply thought Tang Fei had brought back another mouth to feed?
After she had gone hunting with Tang Fei today and brought back plenty of prey, Old Man's attitude toward her had indeed improved quite a bit.
"Hehehe." Old Man let out his signature laugh and said, "I think the opposite of you two. I bet Little Fatty will definitely win."
"Is this something you can bet on?" Tang Fei said irritably. "If you lose, Little Fatty loses his life."
"What's wrong with betting on it?" Old Man said with a cheeky grin. "You care about Little Fatty, so I don't? If Little Fatty dies, who's going to smash rocks for me in the future?"
"Well, that's certainly a unique thing to care about," Tang Fei said sarcastically.
"Enough, enough. I know you care about him. Just keep watch from the side. If you see him in danger, go lend a hand." Old Man waved dismissively, looking impatient. "I still stand by what I said. Little Fatty will definitely win. That kid may be good with knives, but Little Fatty only needs one hammer blow."
Seeing Old Man insist, Tang Fei said nothing more.
Tang Fei knew Old Man was unreliable when it came to minor matters, but he would never be careless when it came to anything important.
Old Man had raised Little Fatty himself. With supplies and food so scarce, he had still managed to raise Little Fatty into such a fair, chubby boy. Tang Fei did not believe Old Man had never secretly slipped him snacks.
Since he believed Little Fatty could win, he must have had his reasons.
Still, Tang Fei was not as carefree as Old Man. He kept a dagger clenched in his palm, ready to rush in to save someone—or kill someone—the instant anything went wrong.
Phoenix was extremely worried about Little Fatty, but seeing Tang Fei yield, she had even less standing to say anything.
After all, she was still an outsider.
Still, like Tang Fei, she secretly gripped the Phoenix Whip in her palm and stared unblinkingly at the battle ahead.
If she sensed Little Fatty was in danger, she would use the Phoenix Whip to "fish" him out.
"What realm is Little Fatty in?" Phoenix asked.
If he had reached the Qi Control Realm like Tang Fei, she would not need to worry so much.
"Little Fatty has no realm," Tang Fei said.
Phoenix froze for a moment. "What does that mean?"
"Little Fatty hasn't started cultivating yet. He hasn't even reached the Body Tempering Realm," Tang Fei explained.
"How is that possible?" Phoenix was stunned.
She remembered the first time she saw Little Fatty, swinging a giant hammer taller than himself to smash rocks. She remembered him casually lifting an Escape Pod that weighed several tons. She remembered him carrying a tree trunk as he chased after those Gray Robe figures.
And now he was locked in an even fight with a top assassin from New Star, yet Tang Fei was saying he had not even begun cultivating?
"That's right." Old Man grinned foolishly, staring at Little Fatty in the arena as though he were some peerless treasure. "Little Fatty's comprehension is poor. He's never been able to sense the existence of Yin Yang Qi, so he hasn't even reached the Body Tempering Realm."
"Little Fatty's comprehension is poor. Do you really need to be this happy about it?" Tang Fei said irritably.
"Have you thought about it?" Old Man turned to Tang Fei. "What if one day Little Fatty senses Yin Yang Qi and becomes a true Cultivator? Wouldn't that be terrifying?"
"What's terrifying about that? I think it would be great. Little Fatty has secretly cried who knows how many times because he can't sense Yin Yang Qi and become a Cultivator."
"I mean his strength would be terrifying." Old Man rolled his eyes. "Think about it. Little Fatty was born with immense strength, and despite still being unable to sense Yin Yang Qi, he can already fight like this. He can take a beating too. Once he starts cultivating, how powerful will he become?"
Tang Fei thought about it and said, "What if he never senses Yin Yang Qi? Or what if he senses it too slowly and can only do it when he's sixty or eighty? What use would that be then?"
"You brat, are you deliberately arguing with me? How could anyone only sense Yin Yang Qi at sixty or eighty? Is he an idiot?"
"Plenty of people never sense it their entire lives. What's impossible about that?" Tang Fei retorted. "Besides, if it's Little Fatty... do you really think there's no chance?"
Old Man sighed deeply.
Clearly, Tang Fei's words had struck at his Worries.
He too feared that Little Fatty would never be able to sense Yin Yang Qi, or that he would sense it far too late.
He had only just sensed Yin Qi, only to arrive in the underworld.
While they chatted, the battle had already reached a fever pitch.
Little Fatty was not affected much. After all, he was still swinging his hammer desperately to block the nine flying daggers that slipped through every gap.
Flying Dagger, on the other hand, grew more uncertain the longer he fought.
Unlike Little Fatty, who was barely holding on, Flying Dagger had taken control of the fight from the very beginning.
He knew his opponent was merely a chubby boy with nothing but brute force. Once his flying daggers drained his strength, he could easily slit his throat.
Victory was his. It was only a matter of time.
But as they fought, he realized something was wrong.
They had spectators.
And there were more and more of them. Tang Fei, Phoenix, and Old Man had all arrived.
He was an assassin, and every one of them had had an opponent.
Now that they were standing here, what that meant went without saying.
The situation was dire. Even if he took care of this fat boy, how could he get past the others?
He could not drag this out any longer. He had to deal with the fat boy in front of him first.
So he looked at Little Fatty with a sneer and said mockingly, "Fat boy, stop struggling. The more you struggle, the more tired you get."
"I know you've already given it everything. You're out of strength, aren't you? You can barely lift that hammer anymore, can you? Give up. It'll feel better once you give up."
"Don't worry. My knives are fast. You won't even feel the pain."
As he spoke, he accelerated his assault, controlling the nine flying daggers and forcing Little Fatty back again and again.
Tang Fei's eyes were icy as he said sharply, "Later, I'm cutting out his tongue."
He would not allow anyone to bully Little Fatty. He would rather be bullied himself than see anyone bully Little Fatty.
Little Fatty truly was exhausted.
He was panting heavily, drenched in sweat. The iron hammer in his hand felt as heavy as a mountain, and every swing required all his strength.
But when would it end?
Sweat streamed down from his forehead, blurring his eyes long ago. He did not even dare wipe it away, because he knew that the slightest mistake would let the nine flying daggers find an opening and turn him into a hedgehog.
Little Fatty liked eating hedgehogs, but he did not want to become one himself.
Little Fatty's movements had noticeably slowed. When he swung his hammer and knocked aside the two flying daggers above his head, the hammer flew from his grasp as well.
"The chance is here!"
Flying Dagger's eyes lit up. He grabbed a flying dagger, lowered his body, and lunged forward, slashing at Little Fatty's neck.
There was too much flesh elsewhere, and his flying daggers were too short. He feared they would not pierce through.
Close!
He could already smell the sweat stench on Little Fatty's body. He could even sense his heartbeat and breathing.
Now.
Flying Dagger knew he had succeeded. His dagger was about to touch Little Fatty's flesh.
Bang!
Suddenly, his body bent like a shrimp, then flew high into the air.
"Huh?"
He saw Little Fatty growing smaller and smaller, while the distance between them widened.
Only then did he feel a sharp pain explode in his chest.
Thud!
His body slammed heavily onto the ground. Just as he tried to get up, he saw a giant behemoth descend from above.
Crack!
The sound of bones breaking came from Flying Dagger's body.
Worried that Flying Dagger might not be dead, Little Fatty raised his fist, as large as a bowl, and smashed it wildly into his head.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
By the time Tang Fei ran over and pulled Little Fatty away, Flying Dagger was thoroughly dead. His face was unrecognizable, and his head had swollen into a pig's head.
Old Man ran over and checked for breathing. "You brat, why did you hit him so hard? I wanted to keep him alive to ask a few questions."
"I was... afraid I wouldn't kill him." Little Fatty panted like an ox, his expression utterly sincere.
"You sat down and shattered every bone in his body. How could he not die? Forget it, forget it. Dead is dead." Old Man had originally wanted to ask whether they had any companions or supply caches.
More importantly, so many of them had come from New Star. What transportation had they used?
If they could get their hands on a flying saucer, they would strike it rich.
Tang Fei, meanwhile, walked over to Flying Dagger's corpse, pried open his mouth, and used his dagger to cut out his tongue.
Phoenix's scalp tingled as she watched from the side. This guy...
He did what he said. He gave people that damned reassuring sense of certainty.
