Background / History
Di Tian came down from the Divine Realm and retains knowledge of its laws, hierarchy, and the Dragon God’s legacy. He serves the Silver Dragon King, whom he calls his Master, and guards the Lake of Life. His authority as Beast God applies to the Star Dou Great Forest rather than every Soul Beast territory; the sea, Far North, and Evil Demon Forest have their own rulers 65 163 175.
His early relationship with Huang Jinxu began in hostility. After Huang killed an auspicious Golden Hawksbill Turtle for his eighth Soul Ring, Di Tian attempted to kill him. The Auspicious Beast intervened because the Power of Destiny suggested that Huang could bring an unprecedented change to the Soul Beast Clan 10 52.
During their second encounter, the newly titled Huang escaped a clash despite Di Tian’s use of spatial power. Di Tian never fully understood how he escaped, but the encounter made him take Huang seriously. Huang later returned periodically to spar with him and learn from his insights 10 52.
Appearance
- Human form: Appears as a black-robed man when accompanying Huang Jinxu and the Demon Empress 162 163.
- Presence: His aura places substantial pressure on powerful cultivators; Kong Deming doubts his ability to subdue him even with a Level 10 Life-Bound Soul Tool 162.
- After his inheritance: His aura becomes more profound and gains Ultimate Ice alongside his existing darkness attribute 171.
Personality
Huang Jinxu regards Di Tian as overbearing and stubbornly proud. Di Tian initially favors overwhelming force, but their dealings gradually teach him to use concealment, bargaining, and indirect intervention. His arrangement with the Demon Empress explicitly relies on waiting for an opening rather than defeating a stronger opponent head-on 10 144.
His central concern is the survival of the Soul Beast Clan. As human expansion reduces its habitat, he begins questioning whether Soul Beasts can endure until the Silver Dragon King recovers. He visits the human world to better understand it and asks Huang whether humans and Soul Beasts can coexist peacefully 52 68.
Di Tian’s willingness to cooperate has firm limits. He treats the safety and secrecy of his Master, the Dragon God, and the Nine Great Dragon Kings as matters that cannot be casually compromised. Nevertheless, he honors his pact with Huang and stops the Demon Empress from attacking him during their disagreement at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 162 170.
Abilities & Skills
Dragon Bloodline and Darkness
His strength comes chiefly from his bloodline rather than his darkness attribute 66.
- Releases crushing darkness pressure during his confrontation with Huang Jinxu 10.
- Uses his aura to intimidate Sky Dream Ice Silkworm without attacking Huo Yuhao 69.
- Ultimate Darkness is not confirmed; the narrative explicitly questions whether he possesses it 66.
Spatial Manipulation
Di Tian has extensive command of spatial power and spatial laws 162 173.
- Tears open space and uses Spatial Jump to travel directly from the Star Dou Great Forest to Huang Jinxu’s location 123.
- Opens a Spatial Passage to the Sun Moon Empire’s Imperial City using markers placed while observing major continental powers 162.
- Creates barriers to protect traveling companions 162.
- His spatial insights are exceptional on the Douluo Plane, but remain far below Electrolux’s 173.
Spiritual Perception and Concealment
His Spiritual Power enables him to perceive forces and concealed intentions beyond many human experts 124 134.
- Identifies Plane Power reshaping an area that Huang Jinxu cannot properly sense 124.
- Recognizes the Sea God’s Divine Sense within Mu En’s sacrifice and understands the mechanism intended to suppress Xuan Zi’s Ferocity 134.
- Conceals the Demon Empress using both his own power and a borrowed wisp from the Silver Dragon King’s Divine Core 144.
- Cannot detect Huang when the latter conceals himself with the Golden Ancient Tree Seed 120.
Water Dragon King Inheritance
The Water Dragon King’s legacy adds Ultimate Ice and a potential route around the restrictions preventing Soul Beast ascension 171.
- Receives a seed or imprint from which the Water Dragon King’s rules Divine Core can be reconstructed 171 172.
- Gains authority over the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, allowing him to help move its spring, earth veins, and associated domain 172.
- Begins comprehending the laws preserved in the Dragon King’s Divine Core imprint 180.
- Must restore the Divine Core before his million-year tribulation for the proposed loophole to work. Otherwise, he would be judged as a new god rather than the revival of an old one 171.
Divine Knowledge
Di Tian’s experience in the Divine Realm gives him insight unavailable to most inhabitants of the Douluo Continent 163.
- Recognizes Electrolux’s simultaneous command of life and death laws as an exceptional foundation potentially comparable to the Dragon God’s 163.
- Understands the distinction between ordinary ascension and restoring an existing divine imprint 171 172.
- On Origin Star, perceives an opportunity to master laws without Divine Realm suppression. His accumulated foundation could support becoming a Second-Level God once he masters the corresponding rules; this remains a possibility, not a completed advancement 180.
Equipment / Items
- Water Dragon King’s Divine Core seed — Inherited foundation for rebuilding the Dragon King’s law-based Divine Core 171 172.
- Dragon egg — Carries one of the eggs condensed from the Water and Fire Dragon Kings’ bloodlines. These eggs are not their original bodies, and their hatchlings will not inherit the dead kings’ memories 171.
- Water-fire subspace sphere — Receives the subspace that sheltered the Dragon Kings’ lingering souls, then gives it to Electrolux to assist construction of the Pseudo-Divine Realm 172 173.
- Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum — Acquires the herb for Xiong Jun, intending to help him attain Ultimate Metal. The agreed payment is a hundred-thousand-year Soul Bone with a light divine attribute for Du Busi 176.
Relationships
- Silver Dragon King — His Master and highest loyalty. He follows her restrictions on intervention and would threaten even Huang Jinxu over exposure of her secrets 134 142 162.
- Huang Jinxu — Former enemy, sparring partner, and increasingly trusted ally. Their cooperation develops through paid exchanges, shared opposition to divine restrictions, and plans for the Soul Beast Clan’s future 10 52 162 170.
- Auspicious Beast — Protective guardian and guide in developing her Power of Destiny. She calls him “Uncle Di Tian”; he repeatedly proposes that Huang take her as a disciple 52 68 69 119.
- Huo Yuhao — Important to the proposed creation of a Plane Master, but Di Tian becomes wary of his growing closeness with the Auspicious Beast 69 164 165 170.
- Demon Empress — Recruited ally against the Sea God. Di Tian conceals her movements and guarantees her reliability after the Silver Dragon King places restraints within her soul 144 162.
- Electrolux — Respected for his mastery of life and death laws. Di Tian supplies him with the Dragon Kings’ subspace to support their Pseudo-Divine Realm project 163 164 173.
- Snow Empress — Consults her about life as a soul spirit, seeing the method as a possible way to improve relations between humans and Soul Beasts 175.
- Xiong Jun — Dislikes his temperament but values his combat strength. Plans for him and the Myriad Demon King to protect the forest if Di Tian becomes unavailable 176.
- Mu En — Initially despises his use of the title “Dragon God Douluo.” After Mu En’s sacrifice enables a setback for the Sea God, Di Tian grudgingly acknowledges that he has nearly earned the title 134 138.
- Body Sect / Du Busi — Holds deep hostility toward the sect and previously unleashed a Beast Tide because of it. Accepts Du Busi’s inclusion in Huang’s alliance despite that history 163.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Bargaining with Huang Jinxu
- Offers Huang a hundred-thousand-year Soul Bone to verify whether the Golden Ancient Tree’s consciousness still exists. Huang later confirms its survival, visibly relieving him 10 52.
- Proposes placing the Auspicious Beast under Huang’s instruction after she glimpses a possible future in which Huang opposes the entire Divine Realm 68.
- Allows Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s sacrifice to Huo Yuhao to proceed. In exchange for a ten-thousand-year Heavenly Dragon Horse, Huang agrees to tell the silkworm that the Soul Beast Clan willingly allowed its departure 69.
- Discusses hunting the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape, conditional on concealing the operation from the Divine Realm and obtaining his Master’s approval 69.
Testing the Power of Destiny
- Directs the Auspicious Beast to protect Huang Qiuqiu during Shrek’s selection trial. She instead chooses Xiao Xiao because her Fortune is easier to influence 119.
- Watches the experiment through a remotely transmitted image. After hearing Huang’s warning, strengthens the Auspicious Beast’s protection with the Scarlet King and Myriad Demon King 119 120.
- Personally investigates an area where the Power of Destiny cannot intervene and identifies the Plane Will’s involvement 123 124.
Building an Anti-Divine Alliance
- Observes Mu En’s sacrifice and Xuan Zi’s seizure of Sea God power, recognizing an opportunity to align with an enemy of the Divine Realm 134 138.
- Recruits the Demon Empress to seek Xuan Zi’s Sea God Authority while keeping the Star Dou Great Forest’s Ferocious Beasts out of the direct conflict 142 143 144.
- Transports Huang’s group to recruit Kong Deming and Du Busi. Accepts a broader plan involving soul spirits, Huo Yuhao becoming Plane Master, and changes to the rules governing human–Soul Beast relations 162 163 165.
Inheriting the Water Dragon King’s Legacy
- Discovers the Water and Fire Dragon Kings’ traces at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and initially objects to plans involving the Dragon God’s legacy 170.
- Helps the Auspicious Beast awaken their lingering souls, then receives the Water Dragon King’s inheritance. The kings’ final deaths leave him grieving rather than celebrating his increased strength 171.
- Uses his inherited authority to help relocate the well into the Undead Demiplane and contributes their subspace to the Pseudo-Divine Realm project 172 173.
Hunting Divine Resources and Seeking Godhood
- Agrees to hunt the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape after Huang reaches level 99. Di Tian seeks their bodies and immortal spirit power to support construction of his divine body and Divine Core 175.
- Distracts the two beasts while the Demon Empress attacks. Their attempted escape fails because Huang’s arrangements have already isolated them in another plane, cutting off contact with Tang San 177 178.
- Travels to Origin Star with Huang, Electrolux, and the Demon Empress. Outside the Divine Realm’s jurisdiction, he discovers a genuine opportunity for godhood without its suppressive rules 180.
