Background / History
Concealing Qian Xunji’s Murder
Qian Daoliu witnessed Bibi Dong kill his son, Qian Xunji, but concealed the truth. Qian Renxue had already lost her father, and he did not want her to lose her mother as well. He also considered Bibi Dong far more capable than his son and believed her leadership offered Spirit Hall a better chance of unifying the continent 20.
Emergence from Seclusion
After the Sky Screen injures Bibi Dong, Qian Daoliu orders Spirit Hall to stop provoking it. He recognizes that its energy vastly exceeds the angel divine power within the Angel God Statue, but expects Spirit Hall’s influence to secure favorable places on its Background Ranking 2.
Sensing Tang Chen’s returning presence prompts him to end his seclusion. Yu Tianheng’s subsequent evolution into the divine-grade Golden Sacred Dragon gives him a rare sense of urgency, and he orders preparations for the Soul Hunting Plan. Nevertheless, he advises against rushing merely because Ning Rongrong’s Martial Soul has evolved, judging her cultivation too low to threaten their operation 3 6 9.
Searching for Qian Renxue
When Xiao Wu’s identity is exposed, Qian Daoliu chooses to capture her personally and visit Qian Renxue in the Heaven Dou Empire. He orders Bibi Dong to conceal his departure and continue military preparations 13.
The Sky Screen then reveals Qian Renxue’s impersonation of Xue Qinghe. Qian Daoliu immediately goes to the Heaven Dou palace, threatening to destroy the empire unless Emperor Xue Ye releases her. Learning that she has already escaped, he heads toward the border 16 17.
At the border, he briefly senses Qian Renxue’s powerful Angel attack before it disappears. Although he cannot locate her, their shared blood and Angel Martial Souls assure him that she remains alive and in no mortal danger 19 20.
Taking Control of Spirit Hall
The public revelation of Qian Xunji’s murder forces Qian Daoliu to abandon his previous tolerance of Bibi Dong. Believing that sparing her would disgrace Spirit Hall, he resolves to kill her, become Pope, and hold power until Qian Renxue reaches Titled Douluo 20.
He intercepts Bibi Dong near the sea and announces his succession. While confronting her personally, he assigns the Enshrined Elders to defend headquarters, occupy rival factions, and retrieve Xiao Wu. His reputation alone discourages the Clear Sky Sect from launching an immediate attack on Spirit Hall 20 21.
Battle at the Sea and the Asura Succession
Qian Daoliu gains the upper hand against Bibi Dong, whose Rakshasa God Trial prevents her from using her full strength. His Angel Power purifies her poison and spiritual attacks, while his domain and golden sword break through her defenses. Her healing keeps her alive, but its Soul Power cost forces her to retreat 22.
When Bibi Dong is secretly removed from his domain through Zi Tian’s intervention, Qian Daoliu mistakenly blames Bo Saixi and attacks her. Their battle ends when a deity-level surge erupts from Slaughter Space. Concerned about the effect of a new god on faith in the Angel God and Sea God, they set aside their conflict and investigate together. On the way, he congratulates Bo Saixi on placing fourth in the Background Ranking 23 24.
Personality
Qian Daoliu combines confidence in Spirit Hall’s supremacy with caution toward powers beyond his understanding. He chooses observation over attacking the Sky Screen and distinguishes between an opponent’s future potential and their immediate military threat 2 6 9.
His affection for Qian Renxue strongly influences his decisions: he spared her mother to preserve her remaining parent and threatens an entire empire when her safety appears uncertain. Nevertheless, Spirit Hall’s ambition takes precedence over his former love for Bo Saixi. Under severe pressure, his usual composure can break, as it does after the murder revelation and Bibi Dong’s disappearance 17 20 23.
