Ch. 26You're So Weak It's Hard to Believe

Shinji exposed Shimura Danzō’s stolen Mangekyō Sharingan and fought him after Danzō survived with Izanagi and regenerated his limbs. Shinji overwhelmed him with his techniques, severed his Hashirama-cell arm, and prepared to end the battle.

  • Shinji recognized that Shimura Danzō had stolen Shisui’s eye, then leaped out of the building as Hiruzen Sarutobi and the clan heads watched.
  • Torifu Akimichi noticed Shinji’s remarkable mastery of Yang Release and wondered how an Uchiha could wield it so naturally.
  • Shimura Danzō regenerated his damaged limbs with Izanagi and attacked Shinji with Wind Release techniques, but Shinji countered with his sword and Body Flicker Technique.
  • Shinji used seventeen rapid afterimages to deflect Danzō’s Vacuum Spheres, then dodged Danzō’s Wood Release with a Substitution Technique.
  • Shinji cut off Danzō’s Hashirama-cell arm with a second Lightning Blade, while Danzō escaped another attack with Wood Release.
  • Shinji called Danzō weak and noted that Danzō’s frightening Dōjutsu had drained a tenth of his Ocular Power.

Ch. 27Mangekyō Dōjutsu: Izanagi Fails to Activate

Shinji defeated Shimura Danzō, whose Izanagi failed to save him as his Hashirama Cells ran wild. Danzō was left barely alive and turning into a tree, while Konoha’s leaders struggled to find someone who could save him.

  • Shinji’s new Dōjutsu prevented Danzō’s Izanagi from restoring his lost arm, and his Hashirama Cells began consuming his body.
  • Shinji taunted Danzō, revealed that Orochimaru was absent, and said he would leave him alive to suffer the consequences of his research.
  • Danzō tried to activate Shisui’s Mangekyō Sharingan, but Shinji removed the eye before the Dōjutsu could take effect.
  • Danzō collapsed as his body turned plantlike, and Hiruzen, Koharu, Homura, and the clan leaders called for medical help.
  • Inoichi explained that only Orochimaru or Tsunade could stabilize Danzō’s rampaging Hashirama Cells, while medical ninja examined him.
  • Shinji considered the political consequences of Danzō’s survival or death and collected the reward for completing his quest to defeat him.

Ch. 28Kakashi: You Really Are the Worst!

Shinji secured recognition as Uchiha Clan Head and negotiated a change to the Konoha Military Police Force, then led Kakashi to the Uchiha compound for a spar. On the way, Shinji hinted that Obito might still be alive, and a white figure emerged from the snow behind them.

  • Medical Ninjas confirmed Danzo was alive but incapacitated by uncontrolled Foreign Cells, and Hiruzen ordered them to keep him alive.
  • Shinji denied causing Danzo’s condition, promised his grudge would not involve Konoha or his clan, and demanded a condition before the meeting ended.
  • The major ninja clans recognized Shinji as Uchiha Clan Head, and the Konoha Military Police Force was made hereditary within the Uchiha Clan while remaining part of Konoha.
  • Hiruzen worried that Shinji’s abilities and unknown eyes could threaten his efforts to unite the village and the Uchiha.
  • Shinji collected the Sharingan from Danzo’s arm and agreed to spar with Kakashi at the Uchiha Clan Compound.
  • Shinji suggested that an Uchiha absent from the clan’s death records might have survived, and a white figure surfaced from the snow behind them.

Ch. 29Chidori Thunderclap Formation

Shinji challenged Kakashi to a match at the Uchiha Training Ground, wagering a secret for the chance to see Kakashi's face. Shinji overwhelmed Kakashi with his Chidori Thunderclap Formation, but Kakashi suddenly surrendered, leaving his reason unclear.

  • Shinji sensed a hidden watcher in the snow, and the pale-headed spy decided to warn Obito that Shinji had nearly spotted him.
  • Uchiha clan members gathered to watch Shinji face Kakashi, while Fugaku and Itachi discussed Kakashi's chances and others speculated about Shinji's interest in Kakashi's face.
  • Shinji wagered that he would reveal a secret if he lost, while Kakashi agreed to show his real face if he lost.
  • Shinji used Phantom Body Flicker: Chidori Thunderclap Formation to surround Kakashi with seventeen lightning-wielding copies.
  • Kakashi escaped the first attack with the Substitution Technique, raised four Earth-Style Walls, and sent Lightning Release shadow clones against Shinji's phantoms.
  • Kakashi abruptly relaxed and surrendered, leaving Shinji and the onlookers without an explanation.

Ch. 30What If You Became Hokage?

Shinji dismissed the others and spoke privately with Kakashi, challenging him to consider becoming Hokage and condemning the failures that had let heroes and innocents suffer. He left Kakashi with a revelation about the Mizukage and an angry demand that he leave the Uchiha Compound.

  • Shinji sent everyone else away so he could talk with Kakashi alone.
  • Kakashi removed his mask and admitted he had no interest in becoming Hokage, while Shinji asked whether he resented his teacher for failing to arrive in time.
  • Shinji blamed Konoha's leadership for White Fang's death and asked Kakashi what if he became Hokage.
  • Shinji described suffering in the Land of Rain, the destruction of the Land of Whirlpools, and the Bloody Mist Village, then said the Mizukage was controlled by Sharingan Genjutsu.
  • Kakashi focused on the Mizukage revelation, and Shinji angrily told him to leave the Uchiha Compound.

Ch. 31Fairness, fairness, and more fairness!

Shinji encouraged Kakashi to pursue the Hokage position and urged Itachi to leave with him after saying goodbye to his family. He then asked Uchiha Genshiki for the forbidden techniques Izanagi and Izanami, and was stunned by what the elder gave him.

  • Genshiki handed Shinji a written slip, and Shinji stared at it in disbelief.

Ch. 32Ultimate Weapon

Big Brother Shinji questioned Elder Genshiki about an old Uchiha tale of a sealed Demon that could drain Chakra and plunge the world into endless sleep, and learned that the clan had once suffered a mysterious Chakra-draining plague. He left to investigate the Demon’s possible seal, while Uchiha Itachi apologized to Izumi and she expressed hope for the clan’s future.

  • Big Brother Shinji reassured Genshiki that the Clan Head could avoid Izanagi and Izanami’s aftereffects, then asked whether he knew of the Uchiha Ultimate Weapon.
  • Genshiki recalled a clan story about a little-girl Demon who could drain everyone’s Chakra and cause endless sleep, and said the Uchiha and Senju had supposedly sealed her together.
  • Genshiki remembered Uchiha members growing weak from extracting Chakra during a strange period, followed by the plague ending and the clan winning battles against the Senju.
  • Big Brother Shinji asked where the Demon had been sealed, and Genshiki suggested searching Senju records because Uchiha records had been lost.
  • Big Brother Shinji told Genshiki that the world would end if the Demon escaped, then left to investigate.
  • Uchiha Itachi apologized to Izumi for putting her in danger, and Izumi said she trusted the Clan Head to guide the clan toward a better future.

Ch. 33Uchiha Clan Infighting?

Uchiha Itachi killed Uchiha Izumi as the Uchiha Compound erupted into a night of violence, leaving Hiruzen Sarutobi unable to discover what was happening inside. • Uchiha Itachi stabbed Uchiha Izumi and condemned her devotion to the clan before she collapsed and died.
  • Explosions, fires, and screams filled the Uchiha Compound, while Mitokado Homura told Hiruzen Sarutobi that the village could not enter and the Uchiha appeared to be fighting among themselves.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi surrounded the compound with ANBU and Root, but the Uchiha refused entry and he waited outside through the night, wary of a possible trap.
  • At dawn, the compound seemed peaceful, its residents and Military Police members going about their routines, and Hiruzen left after learning the clan head had gone to the police headquarters.
  • At the Konoha Military Police Force headquarters, Shisui confronted Shinji over Izumi’s death, and Shinji said Uchiha Itachi had carried out the killing.
  • Shinji revealed that he had watched Itachi’s actions and said the dead girl could no longer use Uchiha Izumi’s name or identity.

Ch. 34Amenotokotachi and Kunitokotachi

Shinji used Kunitokotachi to restore Uchiha Izumi, which reset the Eternal Mark he had placed on Danzo and left his Dōjutsu on a three-month cooldown. After Izumi overheard Shinji discussing Itachi, she awakened a new Sharingan pattern and demanded to know why Itachi could not be killed.

  • Shinji activated Kunitokotachi and healed Izumi, while Shisui questioned him about the Dōjutsu.
  • Shinji explained to himself how Amenotokotachi and Kunitokotachi worked and realized that restoring Izumi had released Danzo from his Eternal Mark.
  • Shinji blamed Itachi for abandoning the plan and killing people, then admitted he could not bring himself to hunt down and kill him.
  • Izumi heard Shinji and Shisui talking, woke in a rage, and awakened a pitch-black three-leaf-clover eye pattern.

Ch. 35Pulao

Uchiha Izumi accepted a new identity as Pulao and vowed to stay beside Shinji, while Shinji promised to help her take revenge on Itachi. Hiruzen Sarutobi overheard Shinji arguing that Uchiha children should attend the Ninja Academy, then entered the office after being caught listening.

  • Shinji comforted Izumi and apologized for the plan that had led Itachi to hurt her.
  • Izumi vowed to hunt down Itachi and keep him alive to suffer, and Shinji agreed to help her.
  • Shinji gave Izumi a bone-white mask named Pulao, and she declared that Uchiha Izumi was dead and Pulao was her new name.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi went to the Konoha Military Police Force to see Shinji and overheard him insist that every Uchiha child of the right age attend the Ninja Academy.
  • After a kunoichi found Hiruzen outside the office, he knocked and was invited inside.

Ch. 36The Ninja Academy Is Out of Your Depth

Hiruzen Sarutobi discussed sending Uchiha children to the Ninja Academy with Shinji and Shisui, then rejected Shinji’s plan to recruit non-Uchiha into the Konoha Military Police Force through an academy office. Shinji agreed to fill the force’s vacancies with Uchiha children, leaving Hiruzen startled by the outcome.

  • Hiruzen Sarutobi questioned Shinji and Shisui about the fires at the Uchiha Clan Compound, but Shinji dismissed them as an accident caused by children practicing Fire Release.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi supported sending Uchiha children to the Ninja Academy to help the clan and village interact, and Shinji said he would persist despite opposition from the elders.
  • Shinji argued that the Konoha Military Police Force needed recruits from outside the Uchiha, while Hiruzen Sarutobi suggested the ANBU Reserve Forces as a source.
  • Shinji proposed opening a Konoha Military Police Force office at the Ninja Academy, and Hiruzen Sarutobi vehemently rejected the idea.
  • Shinji said Uchiha children would fill the force’s vacancies instead, leaving Hiruzen Sarutobi stunned.

Ch. 37The Uchiha's "Caged Bird" spread its wings

Shinji negotiated with Hiruzen Sarutobi to give the Uchiha greater access to the Ninja Academy and police force while hiding what happened in the Uchiha compound. Shisui questioned Shinji’s secret plans, and Shinji left the consequences of Itachi’s defection uncertain.

  • Shinji persuaded Hiruzen Sarutobi to let the police force recruit six academy graduates each semester, select recruits by name, and grant early graduation, in exchange for the Uchiha sending twenty-four children to the academy each year.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi asked Shinji to explain the previous night’s events in the Uchiha compound, but a bloodstained Uchiha subordinate interrupted them before Shinji answered.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi encountered Uchiha Ryuka and his scorched, angry squad returning from a failed mission, but Ryuka avoided explaining what had happened.
  • Shisui asked Shinji why he had made Itachi a missing-nin, and Shinji told him to wait and see how the change would affect the clan and village.

Ch. 38Pot Kage Was Up to His Old Tricks

Hiruzen Sarutobi learned that Danzo had ordered Itachi to destroy Shinji Uchiha and the Uchiha Clan, and that Itachi planned to infiltrate a dangerous organization targeting the Tailed Beasts. After Itachi left, Hiruzen noticed signs of genjutsu and went to check on Danzo, whose condition had suddenly improved.

  • Itachi appeared in Hiruzen Sarutobi's office and revealed that Danzo had ordered him to eliminate Shinji Uchiha and wipe out the Uchiha Clan.
  • Itachi told Hiruzen that Danzo was working with a masked man who called himself Madara Uchiha and whom Itachi believed had caused the Nine-Tails' Attack.
  • Itachi explained that he would join the masked man's organization to gather intelligence on its Tailed Beasts targets and use it to kill Shinji Uchiha.
  • Hiruzen agreed to declare Itachi a rogue ninja and asked him to investigate how the organization had controlled the Fourth Mizukage, Karatachi Yagura.
  • Itachi left as a flock of Crows, and Hiruzen noticed a Sharingan-eyed Crow before learning that Danzo's vital signs had begun to recover.

Ch. 39Bragging to Someone’s Face...

Ch. 40Kurama Father and Daughter

Shinji Uchiha encountered Kurama Murakumo and his daughter Yakumo at the hospital, recognized that Yakumo had a Kekkei Genkai Disease, and said he could cure her later. The chapter left Murakumo hopeful as Shinji clarified that he was not a doctor.

  • Inoichi Yamanaka hesitated to leave with Shinji Uchiha, and Shikaku Nara stopped him from speaking to Hiruzen Sarutobi about his suspicions.
  • Doctors told Hiruzen that Danzo had briefly improved before his condition froze again.
  • Shikaku urged Inoichi to stay quiet and give him time, then led him away from the hospital.

  • Shinji Uchiha explained to Kurama Murakumo that Yakumo's immense Genjutsu talent was weakening her body and said he would seek a treatment.
  • Shinji told Yakumo to avoid Genjutsu, focus on strengthening her body, and asked why she wanted to become a ninja.
  • After Yakumo said she wanted to leave the art room and join other children, Shinji proposed taking her as his student, and she eagerly agreed.
  • Shinji sent the sleepy Yakumo back to the Konoha Military Police Force to rest, then reassured Kurama Murakumo that Yakumo's talent made her a once-in-a-generation genius.
  • Shinji declared that Yakumo would stay with him, leaving Kurama Murakumo stunned that his daughter had been taken.

Ch. 42The Lecherous Jiraiya Makes a Grand Entrance!

  • Shinji left the teahouse, confident that Hiruzen Sarutobi would find the bodies he had prepared and that the unconscious Danzo could not expose their identities.
  • Jiraiya approached Shinji and invited him to talk, leading him to Konoha’s mixed bathing spot.
  • Jiraiya asked whether Shinji intended to become Uchiha Clan head, lead a coup, and seize the Hokage Position, but Shinji said the information was outdated.

  • Jiraiya warned Shinji not to start a war and said he would intervene if Shinji endangered Konoha’s peace.

Ch. 43The Ninjutsu Professor's Reputation Was Well Earned, You Know?

After news spread that Uchiha Itachi had become an S-rank Missing-nin, Shinji asked Hiruzen Sarutobi for sealing jutsu to help his sick student. Ch. 44Sasuke Awakens the One-Tomoe in a Rage

Shinji told Nobihi that Uchiha Itachi had deserted Konoha after killing thirty-seven clan members, including Uchiha Izumi, and revealed that Itachi had sought to kill him. At the Uchiha home, Nobihi's outburst exposed the news to Sasuke, whose Sharingan awakened with one tomoe in each eye.

Ch. 46Giving the Akatsuki a little shock of plagiarism

Shinji organized a mission to the Land of Rain, recruiting Shisui for a secret organization called the Dawn Organization and arranging for Kei to cover their duties in Konoha. • Hiruzen Sarutobi told the clan leaders that an envoy from Kirigakure was arriving as Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Kirigakure moved reinforcements toward the border.
  • Shinji argued that Konoha should receive the envoy without disrupting village life and use the Uchiha Clan’s military police to show strength.

  • Sasuke slipped away from his watchers and wandered through Konoha’s New Year celebrations.
  • Sasuke saw villagers curse and drive away a filthy blond boy, and his good mood disappeared.
