Stille ultimately refused the shopkeeper's offer of free clothes, but at his request, she agreed to let him spread the word that she had bought clothes at his shop.
However, Stille also made him promise that whenever he shared that news, he had to specify that all the clothes she had bought there were made by the Armani Merchant Guild, and that she had bought nothing produced by any other merchant guild.
"There's something I don't understand, Stille. Since President Vincent hired you as his guild's spokesperson, couldn't he at least meet such a simple condition as designing a few outfits specifically for you and giving you clothes to wear whenever you like?" Xu Yi could not help asking as they left the shop.
"Of course that's part of the arrangement. President Vincent isn't that stingy. In fact, all the clothes I've been wearing lately were provided free by the Armani Merchant Guild," Stille replied.
Xu Yi was puzzled. "If they provide clothes for free, why do you still buy them yourself?"
"You just don't get it, do you? Buying clothes is a pleasure in itself. The point isn't what you buy, but the process of buying it," Stille said with a grin. "Besides, the Armani Merchant Guild can't possibly give me every outfit they make. If I go shopping myself, I might find something I've never seen before."
Faced with that particular pleasure, Xu Yi could only shrug to show that he did not understand.
Stille suddenly sighed again. "Xu Yi, I'm realizing more and more that being famous really isn't a good thing. Look at us walking down the street now. People keep pointing at me and talking about me, and it makes me uncomfortable. Even going out to buy clothes comes with so many worries and hassles.
