"You're going to negotiate with the Orc Tribe?" Elder Elusia looked at Xu Yi in surprise. "Why?"
"If I said I wanted to solve the Falling Rain Forest's water supply problem once and for all, would you believe me, Elder Elusia?" Xu Yi asked with a smile.
Elder Elusia studied Xu Yi for a while, then shook her head. "I'm afraid not. You told me last time that you were a human merchant and wouldn't do anything that offered you no benefit."
Xu Yi laughed. "You truly are wise. If all your people were as wise as you, you wouldn't have to put so much effort into training them."
Looking at the ten elf workers Xu Yi had brought back beneath the tree, Elder Elusia sighed softly. "Before the Race War, we elves were just as stubborn and undisciplined, but never so much that we needed to change our ways. After thousands of years of living alone in the forest, however, our people have completely lost many of the strengths we once had."
"Then, Elder Elusia, do you think these people have changed after my special training?" Xu Yi asked.
Elder Elusia's gaze lingered on the ten elves below for a while before she nodded. "I would say they've changed a great deal. Although we can't see the specific results yet, I believe they'll perform far better than if they had stayed in the tribe. But let's return to our earlier topic. I still don't see how negotiating with the Orc Tribe benefits you."
"Because the Sandy River's problems don't just trouble your tribe. They're now affecting the downstream region, including Bunta City. According to people in Bunta City who understand rivers, if we leave the Sandy River alone, it could become a major threat within ten to twenty years.
