A deafening explosion suddenly rang out. Flames shot skyward, lighting up the entire horizon and engulfing the temporary supply depot hidden on the outskirts of a small town.
Seeing that the attack had succeeded, Captain Aver immediately ducked back into his Mana Armored Vehicle, picked up the Magic Communication Box, and ordered, "Withdraw southwest immediately, toward eight o'clock. Pete will send you the route shortly. Follow it. Keep up, boys! We're inside the Sark Kingdom. If anyone falls behind, nobody's waiting for you!"
A chorus of acknowledgments came from the Magic Communication Box, followed by a burst of laughter.
"Come on, Captain. We're so fast that even if someone falls behind, those bastards from the Sark Kingdom won't catch up. Relax."
Captain Aver snorted. "Even a warhorse can twist an ankle. These Mana Armored Vehicles are good, but can you guarantee they won't break down?"
The voice on the other end of the Magic Communication Box faltered, unable to answer.
"Enough. Cut the chatter. This is a war, not a play. If something goes wrong, nobody's giving you a second chance!" Captain Aver's tone hardened. "Damage control personnel in every vehicle, listen up. Keep an eye on your Mana Armored Vehicle at all times. Make sure nothing unexpected goes wrong. Understood?"
"Received!"
"Understood!"
"Leave it to us, Captain!"
This time, the replies coming through the Magic Communication Box belonged to the damage control personnel in each Mana Armored Vehicle.
Captain Aver nodded in satisfaction. Turning to see Pete gesture that everything was ready, he issued another order. "Full speed ahead!"
