The Library was one of the grandest halls of knowledge in the entire Imperium. Its exterior resembled a Pyramid carved from blue and gold crystal, glittering beneath Prospero's pink sky.
The tower rose hundreds of metres high, its surface densely covered in inscriptions etched in Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and psychic runes. In the sunlight, their sheen flowed as though they were alive.
When a breeze swept past, the crystal surfaces gave off a pleasant hum like wind chimes—the resonance of psychic energy flowing through the air.
The Library's interior was even more breathtaking.
Patterns of star charts and constellations adorned the vast dome, slowly revolving in an eerie blue glow to simulate the movements of the Milky Way Galaxy.
Tens of thousands of bookshelves stretched from floor to ceiling, arranged in concentric circles around a central pillar forged from pure gold and carved with countless psychic runes.
The air was filled with the scents of paper, ink, and a faint fragrance reminiscent of Lavender—the special preservative incense the Thousand Sons used for ancient books.
Thousand Sons warriors in red robes and scholars in grey moved between the shelves. Some searched for reference material, some discussed matters in hushed voices, and others read in silence. An atmosphere of tranquillity and solemnity enveloped the entire Library.
Royst stood at the Library entrance, his bearing upright and composed. He waited quietly, holding a thick copy of the Lectitio Divinitatus in both hands, its cover inlaid with a golden cross.
He wore the characteristic dark grey Power Armour of the Word Bearers, its plates branded with cross-shaped marks. A blue rune badge on his left pauldron identified him as a Librarian.
