Background / History
Yu Xiaokong leads the Heavenly Dragon Sect and is the father of Yu Tianlong and Yu Tianjun. His younger son’s awakened past-life memories reveal a possible future in which Xiaokong dies defending Dragon City and the sect is destroyed, with Tianlong alone escaping. This is foreknowledge of the original storyline, not Xiaokong’s confirmed fate in the current narrative 1 17.
During mourning rites at the neighboring Earth Dragon Sect, the Holy Spirit Cult’s third elder attempts to abduct the widowed Nan Shuishui. Xiaokong notices the intrusion and furiously attacks, suppressing the elder with his Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial soul 1.
By the time Tianjun begins planning stronger protection for the family, Xiaokong is cultivating toward Level 94. Tianjun identifies him as one of the sect’s few top-tier fighters, alongside the ailing Yu Yuanjue 14.
Personality
Xiaokong is protective of his family but willing to discipline his sons. When Tianjun, Tianlong, and Xing Yan make insensitive remarks about the bereaved Azure Dragon Sect master, Xiaokong overhears them and thrashes them 1.
As sect master, he combines courteous hospitality with political calculation. He welcomes Xu Jiujiu and Manyi with teas, pastries, and modest language, then pointedly mentions the Heaven Dou royal family’s forthcoming survey visit. The reminder of his sect’s imperial attention makes the Star Luo visitors visibly uncomfortable 17.

Story Role / Major Arcs
- Early family protection: Establishes Tianjun’s powerful family background and demonstrates the sect’s alliance with the Earth Dragon Sect by defending Nan Shuishui 1.
- Royal delegation visit: Acts as the sect’s spokesman while Tianjun is unavailable, balancing hospitality with reminders of Heaven Dou’s interest in the sect 17.
- Death Canyon aftermath: Remains in seclusion while outsiders believe Tianjun and Xiaoying have been killed. Long Xiaoyao explicitly raises the danger of a bereaved sect master seeking revenge when confronting Mu En over Shrek’s handling of the incident 32 36.
