The Typhoon had come too suddenly, and too violently.
In just a few days, the whole of Eastsea City seemed to have been forced to hit pause. Shops along the streets could not open, the Academy suspended classes, transportation ground to a halt for a time, and every department of the administrative headquarters was frantic.
The gale lasted an entire week.
At its strongest, the wind sounded like a beast growling over the city. Trees lining the streets were uprooted, and many buildings suffered varying degrees of damage.
Fortunately, it was finally over.
After the Typhoon, the air in Eastsea City was exceptionally fresh, carrying the damp scent left by the rain. Sunshine fell upon the land again, and a faint rainbow could even be glimpsed in the distant sky.
The blue sky stretched for miles.
But Xie Xie was in no mood to appreciate the scenery.
He sat in the classroom, as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, glancing down at his Soul Communicator every few moments.
"What on earth is going on with him?"
Xie Xie frowned, unable to hide the agitation in his voice.
"He still hasn't answered any calls. His communicator seems to have run out of energy, too. I can't even get through anymore."
The reason was simple.
Tang Wulin had gone out of contact.
During the Typhoon, Xie Xie had trained desperately under Wu Changkong's guidance and finally made a breakthrough. The very first thing he had wanted to do afterward was tell Tang Wulin the news.
But he could not reach Tang Wulin's Soul Communicator.
More importantly, classes had resumed today, yet Tang Wulin had not shown up at all.
That was not normal.
Tang Wulin was not the sort to skip class on a whim.
And after school
