The pride on Xie Xie's face froze instantly, and his fists clenched tight.

The last thing he wanted anyone to mention was his face.

Yet every time, Tang Wulin managed to poke his sorest spot with a single sentence, delivered in complete earnest, as though he truly cared.

Tang Wulin raised a hand and patted his shoulder.

"I have something to do tonight, so I need to go out. Tomorrow night, then. I'll fight you."

Xie Xie had been about to lash out, but those words left him momentarily stunned instead.

This guy actually remembered their rematch.

But Tang Wulin had already turned and left.

After their several exchanges, he no longer resisted the idea of "fighting" as much as he had at first. Xie Xie put tremendous pressure on him, but precisely because of that pressure, every fight helped him grasp something new. The final battle that morning had even let him feel, for the first time, that actual combat and forging were not entirely separate.

When their midday classes ended early, Tang Wulin headed straight to the Senior Division instead of returning to the dormitory.

He waited outside the teaching building for a while before the bell rang.

Before long, Liu Yuxin emerged with several other girls.

"Yuxin!" Tang Wulin waved to his upperclassman.

Liu Yuxin spotted him immediately and quickened her steps, bringing her companions over.

An older girl beside her, with narrow, upturned eyes, looked Tang Wulin up and down with a suggestive smile.

"Yuxin, so this is your type? This little underclassman is really handsome. Give him a few more years, and he'll be a real heartthrob."

Liu Yuxin blushed and gave her an exasperated shove.

"Don't talk nonsense." Then she looked at Tang Wulin, her expression softening at once. "Wulin, did you need something?"
