Gu Yue seemed not to take Xie Xie seriously at all.
Her gaze merely swept casually across the Playground, taking in the students running laps and the surrounding grounds, as though familiarizing herself with everything in this unfamiliar Academy. As for Xie Xie, who stood nearby and was about to fight her, she barely spared him a proper glance.
Wu Changkong glanced at her.
"Underestimating your opponent is the most foolish thing you can do."
Only then did Gu Yue turn back, her tone calm.
"I'm not underestimating him."
That was what she said, but her composure itself carried an almost innate detachment. It was not arrogance deliberately put on display; rather, it seemed she genuinely attached little importance to this match.
Wu Changkong said nothing more, turning his gaze back to the Playground.
By now, Class Five's running formation had spread out completely.
Tang Wulin, wearing two sets of Iron Garment, was still running at the front. His pace was not particularly fast, but it remained steady throughout. The Iron Garment pressing down on him did not disrupt his stride; instead, it seemed to lend him an even greater sense of solidity. Zhou Changxi was in second place. In this kind of purely physical training, the importance of a strong physical foundation became immediately apparent.
As Tang Wulin ran, he also kept an eye on the center of the Playground.
He, too, was somewhat curious about this Gu Yue who had appeared so suddenly.
And just as he looked over, Gu Yue happened to glance his way.
Their eyes met.
Tang Wulin's only impression was that this girl had very bright eyes.
Twenty minutes passed quickly.
Xie Xie sprang up from the ground and first loosened his shoulders, neck, and wrists. His breathing was already much steadier than before.
