Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan — original timeline | 1 36 | Obtained through Itachi’s eyes. Orochimaru later argues that Sasuke’s next ocular development was interrupted by the premature awakening of his Rinnegan. |
| Rinnegan — original timeline | 1 | Awakened after receiving the Sage of Six Paths’ power at sixteen. Later lost following the battle against Isshiki. |
| Mangekyō Sharingan — altered timeline | 2 | Awakens immediately after returning to the Valley of the End. His accumulated grief and reunion with Naruto trigger the transformation. |
| White Cursed Seal | 5 6 | Orochimaru transfers Hashirama Senju’s chakra through Sasuke’s Cursed Seal, turning it white. It stores power for gradual absorption without carrying the donor’s consciousness. |
| Initial Wood Release access | 8 | Uses Great Forest Technique to restrain Shin, demonstrating early access to Hashirama’s power. |
| Accelerated absorption and Deep Forest Emergence | 13 14 | Sasori’s poison and attacks force faster absorption of the White Cursed Seal. Sasuke overcomes the poison and produces a large-scale forest. |
| Susanoo, second form | 14 | Manifests the bow-bearing form and destroys the Third Kazekage puppet with two arrows. |
| Susanoo, third armored “Crow Tengu” form | 16 | Forces the transformation to counter Sasori’s Shukaku colossus and its Tailed Beast Bomb, severely straining his eyes. |
| White Cursed Seal, Stage One | 21 | White markings cover his entire body. Orochimaru identifies this as progress beyond the expected results of the First Battle. |
| Expanded chakra access | 23 | The seal supplies enough chakra to fully use Archer Drake, a powerful Fire Release technique Sasuke created long before his return. |
| Regenerative and defensive breakthrough | 24 25 | Survives Hidan’s heart injury, hardens his body against Kakuzu’s blade, and empowers a Rasengan with the seal. |
| White Cursed Seal, State Two | 49 50 | Activates while trapped underwater by Kisame. Unlocks Adaptive Modification and enough power to perform Scorch Release: Blown-Glass Flame World alone. |
| Adaptive Modification: Snake Transformation | 56 | Escapes Itachi’s dissolving Katsuyu Sage Palm by shedding his damaged body and emerging through its back. |
| White Cursed Seal, State Three | 84 | A white Cursed Garment grows from his body. First released at the finale of his battle with Jiraiya; against Pain, he creates twelve Wood Release clones equipped with skeletal Susanoo. |
| Yang Seal in combat | 124 333 | Releases the Yang Seal to amplify Amaterasu against Obito. The seal also supports his early Extra Form Susanoo technique. |
| White Cursed Seal, State Four and Byakugan access | 135 171 205 | His advanced seal state grants Byakugan abilities while suppressing the Sharingan. State Four contains as much power as the first three states combined; the disappearance of his horns and restoration of his eyes measure absorption. |
| Reinforced and reshaped Susanoo | 171 | Combines Earth Grudge Fear and Shikotsumyaku with Susanoo, strengthening its skeleton and allowing extensive structural changes. |
| Partial restoration of the Sharingan | 205 | His left eye returns to the Mangekyō as State Four absorption advances. Orochimaru identifies him as half a step from fully absorbing the White Cursed Seal. |
| Living Susanoo with an independent chakra network | 242 | Susanoo develops its own chakra network and becomes a form of life controlled by his ocular power, qualitatively increasing its fundamental strength. |
| Hashirama-like bodily constitution | 248 | Madara recognizes that Sasuke’s body has become like Hashirama’s. Sasuke demonstrates Adamantine Strength, although he lacks senjutsu at this point. |
| Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan — altered timeline | 279 333 | Achieved by transplanting Fugaku’s eyes. Gains the passive ocular enhancement Kuebiko-no-Mikoto and can produce Extra Form without relying on the Yang Seal. |
| Susanoo: Living Body Mode and Outer Path forms | 280 333 | Absorbs Susanoo into himself as a chakra mode and externally manifests Extra Form and the Demonic Statue-like Flesh Demon. An implanted Outer Path core provides further forms and power. |
| Six Paths power and right Rinnegan | 309 310 312 313 | Following the Ayekashi crisis and confrontation with the Sage of Six Paths, Sasuke absorbs the Sage’s power and possesses a right Rinnegan. Demonstrates its time-related ability, Ashubha. |
| Susanoo-Tails | 342 343 353 378 | Uses tailed-beast power through his advanced Susanoo, gaining power comparable to the Ten-Tails and helping extract the Ten-Tails and God Tree from Obito. |
| Advanced free-form Susanoo | 399 | Ocular control has improved since the Konoha Wasteland battle. Susanoo expands as a non-humanoid mass of bones and tentacles. |
| Autonomous Blaze Release | 418 | Hōsuseri-no-Mikoto evolves so that Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi automatically defend him without conscious direction. |
| Isshiki’s Ten-Tails Juvenile Jinchūriki form | 430 | Absorbs the juvenile Ten-Tails, gaining a red-and-white cloak, a spiral horn, and a halo connecting four Truth-Seeking Orbs. |
| Dual Rinnegan and major chakra increase | 430 | Uses borrowed Amenotokotachi and Ōgetsuhime to survive the resumed Ayekashi death process. Awakens a Six-Tomoe Rinnegan in his left eye and gains personal chakra comparable to Kaguya’s Ten-Tails. |
| Tenseigan access | 474 475 | Possesses a newly awakened Tenseigan and uses it in combination with other dōjutsu for Yomotsu: Body as Space and Golden Wheel Reincarnation attacks. Its initial endurance remains limited. |
| Nine-Tails Flame Guardian | 457 | Black flames absorb the soul and chakra of Naruto’s Yang Kurama, becoming a Nine-Tails Demon Fox that serves as his guardian. |
| True Ōtsutsuki transformation | 480 | Completes the combined thawing of Ryūshiki’s black and white Kāma: fifty-six percent black and forty-four percent white. His body becomes that of a horned adult, and he manifests a white Divine Robe edged in black. |
| Great Divine Technique: Omotaru | 497 | A silver halo releases light, bringing everything except Sasuke to an absolute standstill. A ruler-like black axis and white marker appear before him. |
| Adamantine Body | 500 | Identified as possessing an Adamantine Body; Sakura is the only other ninja stated to share this constitution. |
Background / History
Original timeline
During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Sasuke and Naruto sealed Kaguya. His subsequent defeat by Naruto at the Valley of the End opened his heart, and he chose to become a guardian of Naruto’s ninja way. In later years, they fought Momoshiki, Kinshiki, Urashiki, and Isshiki; the last battle cost Sasuke his Rinnegan and Naruto the Nine-Tails, prompting both to step back from the front lines 1.
The peace ended when Ōtsutsuki Shi Mei awakened and massacred the Shinobi World. Sasuke survived by casting Izanagi with the right eye inherited from Itachi, but remained critically wounded. Orochimaru evacuated him aboard a spacecraft left by Kara. Shi Mei then drained their planet through a God Tree, consumed its Chakra Fruit, and ascended to godhood, leaving Sasuke and Orochimaru as the world’s only survivors 1.
In Konoha Year 101, the dying Sasuke asked to see his homeland again. Orochimaru restored his sight with cloned Sharingan and offered a way to send his soul into his younger body. Sasuke accepted, taking a chakra sphere containing Orochimaru’s knowledge, memories, and emotions. Orochimaru concealed the technique’s full cost: both he and Karasuki were destroyed after sending Sasuke back 1.
Much later, Shi Mei claims that this apparent opportunity was part of his own design. According to his account, he deliberately destroyed Sasuke’s loved ones, spared Orochimaru as a source of hope, and arranged the creation of Karasuki so that Sasuke could return and develop into a worthy human challenger. The revelation is presented as Shi Mei’s explanation of his manipulation across both lifetimes 508.
Return to the past
Sasuke awakens in Konoha Year 61, immediately after his first Valley of the End battle with Naruto—exactly forty years earlier. Seeing Naruto alive renews his determination to prevent the catastrophe. He nevertheless deserts Konoha again, believing Orochimaru’s research is indispensable and that he has thirty years before Shi Mei awakens 2.
Four days later, Sasuke defeats the younger Orochimaru and transfers the memory sphere into him. Rather than remaining a prospective vessel, Sasuke becomes the guiding force of their alliance. Their shared objective is to combine Uchiha and Senju power, establish a Six Paths foundation, and eventually supply the genetic components needed to make Sasuke a true Ōtsutsuki 1 2 9.
The alliance expands as Sasuke’s battles and interventions change the original course of history. He reconciles with Itachi and recounts his former life to him, pursues a cure for his brother’s illness, and eventually gains the support of figures including Nagato and Obito. His actions initially make him appear to be a threat to Konoha and the Five Great Nations, but Tsunade and Kakashi later learn that his purpose is to prevent Shi Mei’s destruction of the world 61 96 258 272 309 363.
Preparing a new world
Sasuke’s preparations increasingly extend beyond his own growth. He seeks to preserve the potential of his Eternal Mangekyō before awakening the Rinnegan, devises a plan to control the arrival of the Ōtsutsuki through the Ox-Head Heavenly King, and intends to use Isshiki’s Ten-Tails and captured Ōtsutsuki as resources for further transformation 293 315.
After defeating Obito, he revives the Uchiha clan through Rinne Rebirth, respecting Shisui’s wish not to be brought back. He also revives Naruto’s family. During the Infinite Tsukuyomi already activated by Obito, Sasuke uses the dream to convey the world’s former history; Obito later explains publicly that activating the technique was his own act, not Sasuke’s original plan 366 378 408.
His pursuit of Ōtsutsuki power culminates in the complete thawing of two Kāma, transforming him into Sasuke Ōtsutsuki. By the later preparations for the deathmatch, Sakura is again identified as his wife and Sarada as their daughter in the altered timeline 480 500.
Confrontation with Shi Mei
When Shi Mei reveals that he sought to cultivate humans capable of challenging him, Sasuke is devastated by the claim that his tragedy, return, and sources of hope were all engineered. The shinobi’s strongest attacks fail against the power of the sun that Shi Mei has stored in Daikokuten, and Sasuke collapses into despair 508.
Naruto urges him not to accept Shi Mei’s account, while Shinfū refuses Sasuke’s offer to escape. Shinfū admits he had already deduced the enemy’s intentions but remained silent to preserve Sasuke’s resolve. His pledge to remain the “wind” supporting Sasuke prompts Sasuke to recognize his presence and call out to Orochimaru; the supplied chapter does not yet establish the battle’s outcome 508.
Appearance
- Usual clothing: A white kimono, dark blue trousers, and a purple rope belt; he also wears a white cloak during the Sasori battle 2 13.
- Mangekyō pattern: Six-pointed stars replace the Sharingan’s three tomoe 2 13.
- White Cursed Seal: Initially spreads over part of his left side; by Stage One, its markings cover his entire body 6 21.
- State Two: His skin and hair become pale. Underwater adaptation produces gills and a sword-like dorsal fin 50.
- State Three: White fleshy growths become a Cursed Garment connected to his skin. It bears the Senju crest above the Uchiha fan on the back and foxfire-shaped tomoe at the collar 84.
- State Four: His advanced transformation includes horns and pale eyes; the loss of the horns and return of the Sharingan indicate absorption of its stored power 205.
- Five Kage Summit disguise: Wears a mask, allowing the Raikage to mistake him for Obito while Tsunade and others recognize or suspect his identity 129 130.
- Six Paths mantle: Manifests a deep-purple mantle when using Six Paths: Heavenly Strength against Isshiki 418.
- Ten-Tails Juvenile form: A red-and-white chakra cloak wraps his upper body, a long spiral horn emerges from the right side of his forehead, and four Truth-Seeking Orbs are linked into a halo behind his head 430.
- Ōtsutsuki transformation: His skeleton lengthens and musculature develops into an adult build. Two horns spiral around his head from the occipital region, followed by a third above his forehead’s Heavenly Eye. Black-and-white chakra vapor forms a white Divine Robe with black edging 480.
- Original-timeline condition: Appears emaciated and blind at the beginning of the novel, surviving through medical equipment and possessing only his right arm 1.
Personality
Sasuke’s youthful appearance conceals decades of grief and experience. He remains driven to become stronger, but revenge against Itachi no longer defines that ambition. His priority is protecting the world and recovering the peaceful family future he imagined after its destruction 1 11 13.
He is composed under provocation and values ingenuity over excessive force. Against unfamiliar enemies, he studies their techniques, prepares decoys, and changes tactics as their weaknesses emerge. Orochimaru considers this resourcefulness more important than either Hashirama’s power or Sasuke’s prospective Ōtsutsuki transformation 7 12 15 23.
His remorse also changes how he treats others. He gives Shin an opportunity to abandon his destructive beliefs, accepts Kabuto’s support without treating him as expendable, and insists that their group advance and retreat together. His concern can still become controlling: Orochimaru must remind him that protecting Karin does not entitle him to decide her future 8 28 46.
Sasuke remains willing to kill threats he cannot redeem. After defeating Sasori, he acknowledges that he lacks Naruto’s ability to turn enemies into friends, but still respects Sasori as an opponent and asks for his final wishes 17.
His identity becomes less dependent on clan allegiance. When Izuna condemns his Byakugan and Senju power, Sasuke refuses to let the Uchiha name define him. He instead combines different lineages and techniques according to their usefulness, treating inherited power as something to reshape rather than a tradition that must remain unchanged 171.
He also moves beyond hatred toward accountability. Sasuke tells Danzo that he no longer hates him, while acknowledging the crimes that shaped his suffering. After defeating Obito, he prevents his suicide and insists that guilt should be answered through atonement rather than escape through death 315 363.
His protective purpose does not make his methods gentle. He considers risking Suigetsu and Jugo for an infiltration plan, intends to sacrifice hostile Ōtsutsuki to a God Tree, and privately regards revived family bonds as an anchor that can force him onward if his courage falters. These calculations coexist with genuine affection and his reluctance to expose Itachi to danger 96 315 353 378.
Sasuke consistently rejects claims of absolute invincibility. He emphasizes timing, flexible use, and the weaknesses of a technique’s user, even when confronting opponents who claim divine status. His confidence can nevertheless leave him vulnerable to unexpected innovations, as demonstrated by Obito’s altered Kamui 312 346 352.
His resolve is powerful but not unbreakable. He tells Obito that he would accept failure only after fighting to the last possible moment, yet Shi Mei’s claim to have engineered both his lives temporarily destroys his sense of purpose. Shinfū’s loyalty provides an emotional counterweight to that despair 344 508.
Abilities & Skills
Retained Experience and Tactical Analysis
Sasuke brings the technical knowledge and habits of his older self into a young body, although that body cannot immediately sustain all his former techniques 2 6 23.
- Wields Fire, Lightning, Wind, Water, Earth, and Yin Release after years spent strengthening his shinobi fundamentals in the original timeline 8.
- Uses one-handed seals, swordsmanship, taijutsu, and sound-based positioning; fights Kakuzu and Hidan without activating his Sharingan 8 22 24.
- Combines shadow clones, steel wire, traps, and elemental techniques to defeat stronger defenses 12 15 23.
- Future knowledge is incomplete: he never studied Sasori’s full abilities and had never encountered Kakuzu or Hidan in his previous life 11 22.
- Uses Wood Release clones to conceal his real body and exploit the Mangekyō’s inability to distinguish them reliably, repeatedly misleading Obito’s Kamui attacks 122 353.
- Draws on remembered Hyūga taijutsu and uses enhanced ocular perception to read chakra networks, strike pressure points, and evade Madara’s close-range attacks 248.
- Exploits the cooldown of Shinra Tensei with staggered, wire-guided shuriken attacks 248.
- Reads coordinated attacks from the mutated Ten-Tails’ weapon-specialist Pillars, turning their formations against them and discovering that decapitation prevents their explosive Wood Release counterattack 474.
- Teaches Obito an application that integrates the Preta Path’s absorption into ninjutsu, although attacks made from physical air rather than chakra defeat that particular countermeasure 471.
Sharingan and Genjutsu
His Mangekyō awakens through the emotional weight of his previous life rather than Naruto’s death 2.
- Incapacitates Kabuto and Kakashi with ocular genjutsu 2 4.
- Shows Kabuto the future and later gives Suigetsu and Jugo fragments of future events 3 46.
- Uses Bringer-of-Darkness Technique to blind Shin’s twelve clones before disabling them 8.
- Reads subtle battlefield changes, including Sasori’s concealed underwater iron sand 13.
- Repeated Mangekyō use causes pain, bleeding, and deteriorating vision. Hashirama’s Yang Release alone offers little protection for a paired Mangekyō using Susanoo 15 17 19 36.
- Breaks through Itachi’s Tsukuyomi during the Fourth Battle 57.
- Keeps Suigetsu and Jugo in an immersive genjutsu for five months, replaying memories of his previous life. The experience affects their emotions and choices rather than merely supplying factual information 94 96.
- Later shares memories of Isshiki, Kara, Amado, and future threats with Obito through consensual genjutsu 378.
- Uses Izanagi in the altered timeline when Black Zetsu counters his intervention with stored Amaterasu 258.
Eternal Mangekyō and Advanced Ocular Powers
Sasuke obtains his altered-timeline Eternal Mangekyō by transplanting Fugaku’s eyes rather than taking Itachi’s. Orochimaru’s growth plan deliberately delays the next Rinnegan awakening until the Eternal Mangekyō’s innate ability can emerge, avoiding the loss of potential attributed to Sasuke’s original progression 279 293 333.
- Kuebiko-no-Mikoto: Fugaku’s passive eye power doubles perception, copying, hypnosis, resistance to hypnosis, dōjutsu range, and dōjutsu power while halving eye-power consumption. Itachi describes the resulting theoretical efficiency as fourfold, though Sasuke cautions that practical benefits are more complex 279.
- Yamato Takeru: His left Eternal Mangekyō technique commandeers another eye’s dōjutsu. It can take control of Shin’s degraded Blade Reversal without a time limit and can commandeer other dōjutsu simultaneously in that application 346 419 430.
- Active-mode borrowing: Yamato Takeru can use Sasuke’s own power to drive a borrowed technique. His use of Kabuto’s spatial slashes greatly exceeds Kabuto’s normal speed, frequency, and attack angles without a corresponding substantial drain on Kabuto’s eye power 419.
- Rinnegan-level targets: Successfully commandeers Obito’s Six-Tomoe Rinnegan technique Amenotokotachi while Sasuke is still using the Eternal Mangekyō in his left eye 430.
- Ōgetsuhime: Gives his will tangible form during the Ayekashi ordeal, helping him resist imminent death. His struggle back from death’s brink also triggers a major increase in power 430.
- Byakugan: Accesses Byakugan abilities through his advanced White Cursed Seal state and uses Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm against Rasa’s gold dust 135 171.
- Tenseigan: Supports Golden Wheel Reincarnation and the body-as-passage application of Yomotsu Hirasaka. Initial use is constrained by limited eye power and incomplete mastery 474 475.
- Omotaru: A Great Divine Technique associated with a silver halo. Its activation brings everything except Sasuke to an absolute standstill and presents him with a black axis and white marker; the supplied passage does not fully explain all of its temporal rules 497.
Amaterasu and Flame Manipulation
Sasuke combines Amaterasu’s black flames with advanced shape control, displaying skill that Orochimaru associates with the Eternal Mangekyō despite possessing only the Mangekyō early in the altered timeline 7.
- Burns Orochimaru’s serpent form and destroys Sasori’s gathered puppet army 2 15.
- Shapes black flames into ordinary-style Fire Release attacks and Susanoo arrows 7 19.
- Uses Kagutsuchi to control ordinary flames as well as black flames, producing a meteor-like barrage during training 10.
- Archer Drake: Concentrates Fire Release for penetration and efficiency; absorbs Kakuzu’s strengthened flames and forces him to deploy several elemental masks 23.
- Scorch Release: Blown-Glass Flame World: Expands shaped black flames with powerful Wind Release through Susanoo. Inspired by Kaguya’s Expansive Truth-Seeking Orb, it was originally intended as a collaborative technique with Naruto 50.
- Hōsuseri-no-Mikoto: Develops into a black-flame defense that grows stronger against stronger attacks 418 457.
- Autonomous Blaze Release: Gives the flames a protective will. Amaterasu automatically responds to danger, while Kagutsuchi supplies the necessary shape changes; its scale and efficiency depend on Sasuke’s current strength 418.
- True Damage: Amaterasu: Ignites black flames directly inside Toneri’s Hamura Statue, then shapes them into numerous flame spears and Black Flame Crows 439.
- Flame-Breaking Impact: A backup defense that drives remaining black flames back at the attacker after Hōsuseri-no-Mikoto is breached 457.
- Nine-Tails Demon Fox / Flame Guardian: Absorbs the soul and chakra of Naruto’s Yang Kurama into black flames, creating a guardian that later burns through the mutated Ten-Tails’ charging Pillars 457 474.
Susanoo
Sasuke uses Susanoo for protection, restraint, sword attacks, and ranged combat, progressing from skeletal manifestations to the armored Crow Tengu form 4 14 16.
- Blocks Kakashi’s Lightning Blade and restrains him after genjutsu 4.
- Creates a Miniature Susanoo shaped like a tiny Perfect Susanoo, killing Shin’s teleporting miniature while preserving its eye 8.
- Uses the second form’s bow to destroy the Third Kazekage puppet 14.
- Combines storm lightning, Susanoo, and the White Cursed Seal into Susanoo: White Kirin, destroying Sasori’s Shukaku colossus 16 17.
- Limits: Early forms have openings that admit poison or allow Sasuke to be pulled outside. Sustained use strains his eyes, and opponents can exploit its mobility or absorb its chakra 13 15 49.
- Armored Susanoo does not eliminate suffocation and exhaustion inside Kisame’s moving water prison 49.
- Softens damaged Susanoo structures into tendrils, trapping the Raikage’s arm and using the construct to slam him into the floor 130.
- Reinforces its bones with Shikotsumyaku and modifies its connective structure through Earth Grudge Fear, enabling a durable, reshapeable skeleton and bone armor 171.
- Develops an independent chakra network, turning Susanoo into a form of life under his ocular control rather than only a chakra manifestation 242.
- Extra Form: Projects his eyes onto Susanoo through the Magnifying Glass Technique, allowing Susanoo itself to manifest another Susanoo. Initially supported by the Yang Seal; Fugaku’s eyes and Kuebiko-no-Mikoto later remove that dependency 280 333.
- Susanoo: Living Body Mode: Absorbs Susanoo into himself as a Jinchūriki-like chakra mode. Grants extraordinary defense and speed, permits external projections, and allows him to strip away Itachi’s Amaterasu using Susanoo chakra 280.
- Outer Path Relic: Flesh Demon: A greatly enlarged, Demonic Statue-shaped manifestation whose lightning destroys Nagato’s Chibaku Tensei rocks and gravity core 280.
- Outer Path Husk / Husk Sarira: An implanted core made from Demonic Statue extracts enhances Extra Form with power comparable to the statue itself. Because this is effectively an independent power, Sasuke can absorb it as a chakra mode 333.
- Susanoo-Tails: Integrates tailed-beast chakra into his Susanoo-derived power. Supports Tailed Beast Bomb barrages, extreme defenses, and the extraction of the Ten-Tails from Obito 342 343 353 378.
- Free-form construction: Later shapes Susanoo as an expanding mass of bones and tentacles rather than conventional humanoid armor 399.
- Layered defensive limits: Against Obito’s massive self-destruction, Izuna-derived armor and Earth Grudge Fear fascia shatter. The hardened Shikotsumyaku skeleton, fused Samehada, and Itachi’s Yata Mirror together prevent catastrophe 356.
- Mode incompatibility: After absorbing Isshiki’s Ten-Tails Juvenile, Sasuke states that its chakra and the Kaguya-derived Ten-Tails chakra within Susanoo instinctively reject each other, preventing combination of the two modes at that time 430.
White Cursed Seal and Wood Release
The White Cursed Seal is designed to grant Hashirama’s full power while preserving Sasuke’s Uchiha identity, rather than merely approximating Hashirama through a conventional cell transplant 9.
- Gradually changes his cells and chakra toward Hashirama’s constitution; keeping it active in daily life trains his body to withstand the stored power 6.
- Releases new markings as earlier ones are absorbed, accelerating transformation under extreme pressure 13.
- Provides Wood Release techniques including Great Forest Technique, Cutting Sprigs, and Deep Forest Emergence 8 13 22.
- Develops Wood Release: Hidden Shadow Snake Hands, a binding technique that drains chakra 10.
- Gains increasing poison resistance, regeneration, and bodily hardening through absorption; these defenses are incomplete early in training 13 24 25.
- Adaptive Modification: State Two changes his body to suit the environment, allowing underwater breathing and rapid movement. Orochimaru states that these added capabilities will remain after the seal’s core is absorbed 50.
- Snake Transformation: A life-saving adaptation that sheds a dissolving body and produces a replacement with a snake tail before restoring his legs 56.
- Wings: Uses Adaptive Modification to grow wings during the battle with Ten-Tails Obito 331.
- Wood Release clones: Creates multiple clones capable of wielding Susanoo, including twelve against Pain and four dispatched individually against the reanimated Kage 84 171.
- Wood Golem Technique: Reveals the White Cursed Seal’s Hashirama-derived core power by summoning a Wood Golem against the Five Kage coalition 135.
- Flowering forests: Creates poisonous flowering growths. Reanimated opponents are unaffected by the poison, and Dust Release can clear the forest 171 248.
- Wood Dragon Technique: Uses conventional Wood Dragons and black-flame variants against powerful opponents 93 178.
- Yasaka Flame Dragon: An eight-headed combination of Wood Dragon and Amaterasu. Breaks through Madara’s Chibaku Tensei; Orochimaru and Karin recognize it from Sasuke’s earlier battle with Nagato 248.
- Wood Release Taijutsu: Immovable Adamantine: Blocks a powerful strike from the Fourth Raikage 129.
- Adamantine Strength: Hashirama-like physical power that knocks Madara back and disperses the tailed-beast chakra surrounding his hand 248.
Rasengan, Lightning Release, and Sealing
Sasuke adopts the Rasengan as an alternative when deliberately avoiding Sharingan-dependent Chidori combat 21.
- White Rasengan: Infuses Rasengan with the White Cursed Seal’s power, breaking Kakuzu’s Earth Release hardening and later impaling Kisame with wooden spikes 25 49.
- Chidori Sharp Spear: Extends and reshapes Chidori to strike from a distance, delivering the fatal blow to Sasori’s living core 17.
- White Lightning Release: Moves too quickly for Kisame to absorb and severs his arm 50.
- Contract Seal: Severs the connection underlying Hidan’s injury-transfer ritual after Sasuke deduces that it functions through a contract 25.
- White Chidori: Combines Chidori with the White Cursed Seal. Pierces the Fourth Raikage’s Lightning Release armor, but fails against the reanimated Third Raikage’s body 56 129 171.
- Kirin senbon barrage / Cloud-Cutting Sword: Converts storm lightning into numerous senbon to outlast Obito’s phasing window. Later draws the remaining Kirin into his own body 124 125.
- Uchiha Flame Formation: Creates a purple barrier that resists Tsunade’s punch and Guy’s Daytime Tiger 93 94.
- Eight-Pillar Black Formation and Gates of the Great God: Restrains Obito and the Ten-Tails, obstructing their integration and healing 331.
- Six Paths Jiazi Lock: A gate-locking secret technique taught by Hashirama. Dark runes immobilize the divided Super Ten-Tails fragments beneath the Gates of the Great God 478.
- Six Paths Yin-enhanced Chidori: Can infuse Chidori with Six Paths Yin Power to damage an Impure World Reincarnation body 312.
- Takeamikazuchi: Prepares an enormous lightning-charged hammer through the Outer Path Flesh Demon during his confrontation with the Sage of Six Paths 307.
- Six Paths: Heavenly Strength: A self-created Sage Art drawing on the Six Paths Yang seal in his palm. Allows him to support Isshiki’s immense Great Gates of Heaven, though stacking multiple gates eventually makes a different solution necessary 418 419.
- Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei: His strongest stated sealing technique at the time of Obito’s renewed transformation, powered by Yin and Yang. Its requirement for a Demonic Statue core prevents its use against Obito after the statue has been extracted 346.
- Golden Wheel Reincarnation fragments: Embeds fragments of his sword in ten Tailed Beast Bombs to destroy the mutated Ten-Tails’ gravitational cores 475.
Rinnegan, Six Paths Power, and Space-Time Techniques
Sasuke’s altered-timeline development eventually restores and exceeds several capabilities of his former Rinnegan. His right eye awakens Ashubha, while his left eye later becomes a Six-Tomoe Rinnegan after the second Ayekashi ordeal 312 313 430.
- Ashubha: Removes Sasuke from the ordinary flow of time and allows him to leap three seconds into the future while acting freely during the interval. Demonstrations defeat Nagato’s prepared reaction, destroy Minato’s arm with Rasengan, and decapitate Tobirama with Chidori before observers can perceive an attack trajectory 312 313.
- Repeated Ashubha: Uses the technique ten times consecutively to lock Obito down for thirty seconds during a Tailed Beast Bomb barrage. Kuebiko-no-Mikoto is crucial to reducing the cost, but the effort nearly exhausts his eye power 342.
- Amenotejikara: Instantly swaps two points in space. Uses a previously planted sword to turn Toneri’s gravitational pull into an impalement and repeatedly swaps positions during the battle with the mutated Ten-Tails 312 438 475.
- Preta Path: Absorbs Toneri’s close-range Mind Sphere 438.
- Super Shinra Tensei: Destroys Toneri’s puppet army and devastates his palace 438.
- Outer Path Statue Chains: Binds miniature Tailed Beasts and the Yin Nine-Tails and Eight-Tails chakra forms as part of the extraction strategy against Obito 333.
- Truth-Seeking Orbs: Shapes the orbs into blades and other equipment, including a Kusanagi-shaped sword for fighting the Pillars 331 430 474.
- Yomotsu Hirasaka: Opens portals between dimensions, including an evacuation route to Blue Moon Island. Its combination of Rinnegan, Sharingan, and Byakugan permits portals within sight without requiring spatial coordinates 346 420.
- Portal-assisted combat: Chains close-range attacks against Isshiki through rapidly opened portals, remaining mobile despite the surrounding spatial turbulence 420.
- Kamui-space trap: Links a portal to Obito’s own Kamui dimension to threaten him where phasing cannot protect him; Obito escapes by substituting a Limbo shadow 353.
- Yomotsu: Body as Space: Turns his body into a passage that diverts attacks elsewhere. The initial Tenseigan-supported version lasts only one minute; redirecting sixty Tailed Beast Bomb beams consumes half of that duration 474 475.
- Body-as-space limitation: Cannot yet make the attacker the opposite endpoint and directly reflect the attack unchanged. Obito identifies this as a possible future development rather than an achieved capability 475.
- Rinne Rebirth: Revives the Uchiha clan and Naruto’s family, while deliberately leaving Shisui at rest according to his wishes 366 378.
- Physical restoration: Restores revived Fugaku’s eyes with a touch 366.
Ōtsutsuki Transformation and Divine-Level Power
Sasuke’s ultimate transformation is achieved through Ryūshiki’s paired Kāma rather than remaining merely a proposed biological reconstruction. The combined thawing progress must reach one hundred percent 480.
- Retains the White Cursed Seal’s special abilities and multiple kekkei genkai while developing his later Six Paths and Ōtsutsuki powers 430.
- Gains personal chakra comparable to Kaguya’s Ten-Tails after surviving Ayekashi through borrowed Amenotokotachi and Ōgetsuhime 430.
- Uses Yamato Takeru with the Rinne Sharingan to create four powerful phantoms, each wielding Susanoo-Tails. Their Tailed Beast Bomb barrage incorporates borrowed Kamui and Limbo powers 419.
- During forced Kāma evolution, opens the Seventh Gate of Wonder despite never having mastered the Eight Gates Released Formation, using the temporary exertion to endure the transformation 480.
- Completes the black Kāma at fifty-six percent and the white Kāma at forty-four percent, producing a true Ōtsutsuki body 480.
- Possesses an Adamantine Body by the later deathmatch preparations 500.
- Remains vulnerable to overwhelming force and psychological collapse despite these advancements; Shi Mei’s solar attacks defeat the shinobi’s strongest resistance in the latest supplied chapter 508.

Relationships
- Naruto Uzumaki — Closest friend and intended partner against the Ōtsutsuki. Sasuke leaves him to pursue power but deliberately provokes a more ambitious training program, hoping Naruto will eventually stand beside him 1 2 4 9. Naruto’s abduction and manipulation become recurring concerns. Sasuke tells Kurama that he intends to bring Naruto back but believes Naruto must first grow strong enough to rival him; his determination to save Naruto drives his dangerous Kāma transformation 93 343 480. Naruto later urges him to resist Shi Mei’s psychological attack 508.
- Orochimaru — Former enemy and teacher who became like family during Sasuke’s final ten years. His sacrifice enables the return; his younger self becomes Sasuke’s researcher, strategist, and principal ally 1 2 6. Oversees the Ten Battles, engineers ocular development and the Ayekashi safeguards, and replenishes Sasuke’s eye power through Amaterasu-Ōmikami 293 333 346. Sasuke’s final response to Shinfū’s loyalty in the latest chapter is to call out to Orochimaru 508.
- Kabuto Yakushi — Ally and regular sparring partner. Sasuke helps establish his trust through evidence, while Kabuto’s Blade Reversal provides transport and logistical support 3 8 9 10. Kabuto summons the Eighth Battle’s opponents and later lets Sasuke borrow his spatial-slashing ability. Seeing Sasuke’s amplified use of it helps motivate Kabuto to return the borrowed eye to Obito and pursue his own path 170 419 424.
- Karin — Longstanding admirer whom Sasuke previously used and hurt. He rescues her, feels responsible for her past suffering, and ultimately respects her decision to inherit the Ketsuryūgan 19 28 34. Later thanks her for risking her life during the Seven-Star Lamp Formation 317.
- Sakura Haruno — Wife in the original timeline and teammate in the altered one. Sasuke suppresses his lingering affection because he believes the world’s danger must take priority 4. Protects her during the confrontation with Konoha and entrusts her to Tsunade after her desperate charge through Amaterasu 94. Later again identified as his wife, now an Ōtsutsuki and Celestial Ninja with an Adamantine Body 500.
- Sarada Uchiha / Ōtsutsuki Sarada — Daughter in the original timeline. Her death remains part of his grief; he remembers her destroying Shin’s miniature eye-bearing creature 1 7. Recognizes the mutated Ten-Tails’ use of Ōhirume as a technique associated with her 475. In the altered timeline’s later generation, she is again his and Sakura’s daughter and becomes a Celestial Ninja with soul-related divine powers 500.
- Itachi Uchiha — Elder brother. Sasuke abandons revenge as his defining purpose and refuses to obtain strength by taking the living Itachi’s life or sight 13 36. Their Fourth Battle resolves an emotional obstacle in Sasuke’s growth. Sasuke then tells him the story of his previous life and vows to secure the Sage Medicine needed for a full cure 60 61 62. Itachi becomes a key ally, assisting with Samehada and shielding Sasuke from part of Obito’s devastating attack 346 356.
- Fugaku Uchiha — Father whose missing Mangekyō eyes Sasuke seeks for a new Eternal Mangekyō 36. Eventually inherits his eyes and Kuebiko-no-Mikoto, later revives him and restores his sight 279 333 366.
- Mikoto Uchiha and the Uchiha clan — Sasuke’s family and clan are revived through Rinne Rebirth. Their return provides genuine emotional ties as well as a deliberate source of motivation against Shi Mei 363 366 378.
- Kakashi Hatake — Former teacher who tries to prevent Sasuke from returning to Orochimaru. Sasuke defeats him and leaves a warning intended for Naruto 4. Later protects him from Obito despite Konoha’s hostility 93. After learning Sasuke’s burdens, Kakashi apologizes and offers to explain the truth to Konoha; Sasuke declines to avoid destabilizing Kakashi’s new Hokage administration 309.
- Obito Uchiha — Initially an adversary Sasuke hopes to recruit and suspects of possessing Fugaku’s eyes 22 36. Their repeated battles progress through Kamui, Rinnegan, and Ten-Tails confrontations. Sasuke ultimately stops his suicide and urges atonement, after which Obito becomes a major ally in the Isshiki campaign and the suppression of the Super Ten-Tails 363 378 418 478. Sasuke also commandeers his Amenotokotachi to complete a crucial power advancement 430.
- Suigetsu and Jugo — People from Sasuke’s past whom he refuses to abandon. After Obito recruits them into Akatsuki, Sasuke subdues them without serious injury and shows them fragments of the future 19 20 45 46. Their five-month immersive genjutsu changes how they respond to him. Sasuke remains reluctant to risk them in Orochimaru’s proposed infiltration of Obito’s dimension 94 96.
- Gaara — Target of a rescue effort undertaken partly out of respect for Naruto’s bond with him. Sasuke accepts an attempted Impure World Reincarnation as a last resort after finding him unresponsive 43 45. Gaara later appears to recognize him beneath his mask at the Five Kage Summit and prevents his siblings from revealing their suspicions 130.
- Nagato — A rescue target after Obito takes him into Kamui’s dimension, and later a powerful ally in an immortal reanimated body 93 96 258. Orochimaru regards the restored Nagato as a possible Tenth Battle opponent. Nagato also helps test Sasuke’s Living Body Mode and Ashubha 138 280 312.
- Konan — Sasuke offers her an alliance without demanding immediate trust, gives her Orochimaru’s Flying Thunder God kunai, and warns that Obito’s Izanagi will defeat her prepared explosive-tag trap 91.
- Kisame Hoshigaki — Opponent in the Third Match and later an ally through Itachi. Supplies Eight-Tails chakra for the extraction strategy and willingly lends Sasuke Samehada 48 49 50 333 346.
- Hashirama Senju — Source of the power stored in the White Cursed Seal and later a direct supporter. Honors Sasuke’s unrecognized efforts to protect the world, warns him about Ayekashi, and teaches the gate-locking technique used against the Super Ten-Tails 9 293 478.
- Uchiha Izuna — Eighth Battle opponent whose resemblance to Sasuke links them through Madara’s memories. Condemns Sasuke’s use of Senju and Byakugan power and inflicts the Ayekashi curse that becomes central to Sasuke’s later growth plan 170 171 258 293.
- Madara Uchiha — Powerful opponent who ultimately recognizes the willing loyalty of Sasuke’s companions as a strength he himself lacks. Asks Sasuke to free Izuna’s soul before Black Zetsu takes control of him 248 258.
- Danzo Shimura — Former object of hatred whom Sasuke later forgives without denying his crimes. Assigns him responsibility for locating the Ox-Head Heavenly King as an act of atonement 315 316.
- Tsunade — Initially confronts him as a rogue and conceals his identity during the Five Kage Summit to assess his intentions. Later understands his actions as efforts to prevent Shi Mei’s destruction of the world 94 129 272.
- Ōtsutsuki Isshiki — A dangerous hidden enemy from Sasuke’s previous life. Sasuke deliberately avoids revealing overwhelming power too early so that Isshiki will not remain concealed, then confronts him with Obito and Itachi 378 418 422.
- Ōtsutsuki Toneri — Sasuke initially prefers to obtain the Tenseigan without harming him, recognizing the help Toneri gave Boruto in the former timeline. Their encounter nevertheless becomes a battle over Hanabi and Toneri’s Tenseigan powers 431 438.
- Ōtsutsuki Momoshiki — Enemy from the original timeline whom Sasuke regards as an old acquaintance because of his connection to Boruto. Later tells the captured Momoshiki that he intends to sacrifice him to the Ten-Tails and asks whether he has anything to leave behind 487.
- Shinfū — A later Celestial Ninja born on the day Sasuke returned to the past. During the deathmatch, refuses to abandon Sasuke and reaffirms his role as the “wind” supporting him after Shi Mei’s revelations 500 508.
- Ōtsutsuki Shi Mei — Destroyer of Sasuke’s original world and the ultimate threat driving his return and transformation plan 1 2. Later claims that Sasuke’s tragedies, hope, time travel, and development were deliberately engineered to create a worthy challenger 508.

Ten Battles Plan
- Purpose: Fully absorb Hashirama’s power in one year rather than the expected three 6.
- Schedule: Two months of continuous seal adaptation, followed by one extreme battle per month for ten months 6.
- Opponent selection: Orochimaru chooses opponents according to Sasuke’s development and the abilities needed to push him further 6 10 20.
- Safety limit: Orochimaru warns that shortening the process below one year would cause irreversible damage and restrict Sasuke’s future potential 6.
- Sasuke’s condition: His allies must not interfere even if a match appears fatal, making his autonomy a recurring source of conflict with those who care for him 11 24.
- Emotional development: Itachi’s Fourth Battle is chosen partly to resolve the brothers’ bond, allowing Sasuke to devote himself fully to later trials 62.
- Continuity of the plan: The group agrees that the Ten Battles must continue despite unforeseen changes, because Sasuke remains its principal future combatant against the Ōtsutsuki threat 102.
- Seventh Battle: Includes the confrontation with Obito and the masked assault on the current Five Kage 124 129.
- Eighth Battle restrictions: Sealing jutsu is forbidden, and the reanimated opponents are allowed independence. Sasuke receives twenty-one days to prepare and must discover or create a solution to their endless stamina 153.
- Eighth Battle roster: Mu, Gengetsu, the Third Raikage, Rasa, and Izuna 170.
- Ninth Battle selection: Orochimaru considers Obito the best candidate, despite Itachi’s concern that his combined Kamui, Rinnegan, Senju power, and Demonic Statue may exceed even a final-match opponent 193.
- Tenth Battle candidate: Orochimaru identifies the restored, immortal Nagato as a possible opponent after repairing his legs 138.

Trivia
- Sasuke favors his right hand after returning because he spent decades without his left arm in the original timeline 2.
- Blue Moon Island can be found because he memorized its spatial coordinates with his former Rinnegan; surrounding fog and failing compasses otherwise make navigation extremely difficult 10.
- The miniature Perfect Susanoo used against Shin does not establish that Sasuke can manifest a full-sized Perfect Susanoo at that early point in the altered timeline; during the Kisame battle, Orochimaru identifies that level of power as beyond Sasuke’s current options 8 49.
- His resemblance to Izuna recalls Hashirama’s original-timeline observation that Madara’s love for his brother helped motivate him to spare Sasuke 170.
- His later Susanoo does not remain limited to a humanoid silhouette: Earth Grudge Fear, Shikotsumyaku, an independent chakra network, and advanced ocular shaping allow highly unconventional forms 171 242 399.
- Kuebiko-no-Mikoto’s “twice the effect for half the cost” is a major reason he can repeatedly use high-cost Rinnegan abilities, rather than Hashirama’s power alone accounting for his endurance 279 342.
- The thirty-year future referenced in his explanation to Obito concerns the catastrophe he is trying to prevent; his return from the dying-survivor period at the beginning is explicitly forty years backward 2 6 344.
- Obito’s suggestion that Omotaru might involve intervention in the past is explicitly speculation in the supplied passage. The directly described phenomenon is an absolute standstill around Sasuke and the appearance of a temporal interface 497.
- Despite the name and eventual Ōtsutsuki transformation, he begins the altered timeline as a human Uchiha. True Ōtsutsuki status is explicitly achieved only when the combined Kāma thawing reaches one hundred percent 1 9 480.
