Before his death, however, Kisame's heart resonated powerfully with Itachi's. It happened just as Itachi awakened his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan dōjutsu, Ame-no-Uzume. That convergence of circumstances triggered Ame-no-Uzume's "deity mechanism."
Kisame survived as a result, and learned the truth about the Infinite Tsukuyomi, as well as the catastrophe that had befallen the shinobi world in their previous life.
From then on, he shed his Akatsuki Robe and resolved to find his own path.
After the Eighth Battle.
Obito Uchiha launched a devastating assault with the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. In the end, Killer B failed to repeat his old trick of escaping by shedding a tail. Overwhelmed by Obito's absolute power, he sank into the sea.
