Qingyun's face lit up when he received the system's new mission. Then, seeing Tsunade watching him expectantly, he nodded. "All right, I'll follow your arrangements, Teacher Sis. I'll work at the Ninja Hospital, but what about the Ninja Academy?"
Delighted that Qingyun had agreed, Tsunade immediately took charge when she heard his question. "Don't worry, I'll speak to the Ninja Academy for you. With your current abilities, there's hardly anything you can learn there anyway. You'd be better off helping me at the Ninja Hospital. You can improve both your proficiency in Medical Ninjutsu and your chakra control. We'll accomplish several things at once."
Qingyun nodded. He was bored at the Ninja Academy anyway, so he might as well follow Tsunade to the Ninja Hospital and treat the wounded.
After arranging a time with Qingyun, Tsunade left with a reluctant Kushina, leaving Qingyun and Minato Namikaze to clean up.
"Big Brother, are you really going to the Ninja Hospital with Lady Tsunade? Won't that leave me all alone at the Ninja Academy?"
Minato Namikaze spoke wistfully to Qingyun as he cleared the dishes.
Qingyun smiled. "I'm only going to the Ninja Hospital to treat the wounded, not leaving the village on a mission. I'll come back here to sleep every day, and I'll still train here too. Why are you acting like a lovesick girl?"
After hearing Qingyun's explanation, Minato Namikaze scratched his head and laughed sheepishly.
Once they finished cleaning up, Qingyun and Minato Namikaze began practicing the Primordial Chaos Technique.
This was their daily routine. They practiced the Primordial Chaos Technique instead of sleeping, and a whole night of cultivation left them more refreshed than eight hours of deep sleep.
The night passed uneventfully. Early the next morning, Qingyun got up and prepared lunchboxes for them both. After moving around a little to loosen up, he slung the lunchboxes over his back and slowly headed toward the Ninja Hospital.
Before long, Qingyun reached the Ninja Hospital and looked around curiously, taking in all the ways it differed from the hospitals in his previous life.
"Little guy, what are you doing here? Are you looking for someone? Tell me, and maybe I can help you find them."
A cute-looking girl in a nurse's uniform approached Qingyun, crouched beside him, and spoke.
Qingyun looked at her and explained helplessly, "I am looking for someone. Teacher Tsunade asked me to come to the Ninja Hospital today to help treat the wounded. If you know where she is, please take me to her. Sorry for the trouble.
"Also, please don't call me little guy. I'm already grown up."
The girl's dainty mouth formed an O as she stared at Qingyun in disbelief.
Her stare made Qingyun uncomfortable all over. He waved a hand in front of her eyes, snapping her out of her daze.
"Are you sure that's true?"
The girl blushed after Qingyun brought her back to her senses, then asked her question.
Qingyun nodded to show that he wasn't lying.
Only then did the girl tentatively believe him and lead him toward Tsunade's office.
Before long, she reached Tsunade's office and knocked. Tsunade's weary voice came from inside. "Come in."
The girl opened the door and bowed to Tsunade. "Lady Tsunade, I'm sorry to disturb you. This little guy said you asked him to come help treat the wounded, so I brought him here to confirm it with you."
Seeing Qingyun beside the girl, Tsunade's tired face softened into a smile. "Yasuko, Qingyun is indeed my student. Sorry for the trouble of bringing him here. I'll take over now. Go back to your work."
"Yes, Lady Tsunade."
Yasuko suppressed her surprise, bowed, and left the office.
"Teacher Sis, did you not sleep last night?"
Qingyun asked curiously as he looked at Tsunade's exhausted face.
Tsunade nodded and yawned. "There are too many wounded. I treated some of the seriously injured ones last night. You're just in time. Here's your work uniform. Put it on and start treating the patients!"
Tsunade tossed him a small white coat and gestured for him to change.
Qingyun set down the lunchboxes, took the white coat, and put it on.
Once Qingyun had changed, Tsunade led him out of the office and through a winding route to an area filled with cries of pain.
Qingyun's pupils contracted at the sight of so many wounded lying scattered across the open space, then returned to normal.
"These patients have received basic treatment. Now use the Mystical Palm Technique on them one by one to speed up their recovery."
Tsunade gave Qingyun his instructions.
Qingyun frowned. "Teacher Sis, the Mystical Palm Technique can help their wounds heal faster, but the cost is excessive cell division. That will greatly shorten their lives."
Tsunade rolled her eyes. "You think I don't know that? But the situation on the battlefield is critical. If they don't recover quickly and return to battle, the front lines will come under pressure, and those elders will propose graduating some Ninja Academy students early to keep the front from collapsing.
"Don't worry. They've already agreed to this treatment."
Qingyun sighed inwardly at her words. Without saying anything more, he began using the Mystical Palm Technique on the wounded one by one to accelerate the healing of their injuries.
Tsunade nodded in satisfaction as she watched Qingyun work skillfully. Only after confirming that he wasn't making any mistakes did she turn and leave with peace of mind.
Qingyun focused on treating the wounded. Whenever his Internal Force ran low, he sat cross-legged where he was and meditated to replenish it.
"Little guy, that's an impressive Mystical Palm Technique. Are you Lady Tsunade's personal apprentice?"
A middle-aged ninja with a scar-covered face and a wound on his chest caused by an Explosive Tag smiled at Qingyun as he asked.
Qingyun looked up curiously at the ninja. Although the man was only a Chunin, he wasn't crying out like the others despite his severe injury. A trace of admiration stirred in Qingyun's heart. "That's right. My name is Qingyun. Lie back, mister. I'll start treating you now."
As he spoke, Qingyun gathered Internal Force in his hands and circulated it according to the Mystical Palm Technique. Before long, a green glow appeared around his hand, and he pressed his palm against the middle-aged man's chest.
The man's wound began healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
As Qingyun treated him with the Mystical Palm Technique, a cool sensation spread across the man's chest, drawing an involuntary moan from him.
"Little Qingyun, your Mystical Palm Technique already rivals that of some medical Jonin. Well done. Next time I'm injured, I'll come to you for treatment again."
Qingyun wiped the sweat from his forehead and smiled faintly. "Though I hope I won't have to see you here again, you can come to me anytime you need help."
The man paused, then smiled. "Heh, you're a good kid."
Qingyun smiled without replying. After resting for a while, he resumed treating the next patient.
The day passed quickly. Qingyun treated more than thirty seriously wounded patients in all.
As evening approached, Qingyun felt as though his palms had grown thicker, and his meridians ached faintly. It was the aftereffect of constantly circulating Internal Force through the meridians in his hands.
