A week later.
Dave, Hiruzen, Danzo, Tobirama, and Izuna stood at Konoha's gates, ready to welcome the Kage from the other four shinobi villages.
These were the first Chunin Ninja Exams jointly held by the Five Great Nations, and Tobirama was under considerable pressure. He knew the Four Great Villages had been probing Konoha lately, and there was no telling what trouble they might stir up during the exams. Tobirama had already made every preparation within the village.
Kagami was supposed to be standing here, but... he was still in the hospital. So Tobirama's first thought had been his precious son, leaving Dave utterly dumbfounded... Dave had originally been slated to serve as chief examiner alone... but he had insisted on turning one into three, dragging Hiruzen and Danzo along too.
Hiruzen and Danzo had no objections. They were eager to do anything that contributed to the village.
Dave really was a good brother. Even when it came to a chance to dedicate himself to building up the village's basic social foundations, he remembered to include them.
Dave hadn't thought that deeply... he was just lazy... even if he was going down, he had to drag two others along...
When the time came, he would dump everything on those two and enjoy some peace and quiet.
Soon, two groups slowly appeared on the horizon.
Tobirama's gaze sharpened as he saw the two men leading them. It was the Kazekage and the Mizukage.
Tobirama was baffled. Aren't these just Chunin Ninja Exams? Did both of you Kage really need to come? Damn, the preparations back in the village aren't enough.
Shamon and Hozuki Gengetsu slowly approached Tobirama, wearing expressions as grim as if their mothers had died. Tobirama looked completely bewildered. I don't think I did anything...
After glaring at Tobirama,
