"Sure thing, Uncle Madara!" Duy, who had been planting vegetables, paused before giving him a sweet smile.
Madara Uchiha jumped down from the wall, hoisted Dave onto his back, and left with a few leaps.
Along the way, many residents smiled and greeted Madara Uchiha when they saw him again, calling him Lord Madara. Some villagers even joked about how well Lord Madara danced every day. In a rare show of friendliness, Madara nodded back at them.
Inside the Dango Shop.
"Kid, do you think the shinobi world will ever truly know peace?" Duy and Madara sat awkwardly across from each other. Madara turned to look outside the shop as he asked.
...Holy shit, Uncle Madara, you're freaking me out with that question... Why are you still thinking about this fucking idiotic crap...? How many people in the original story got toyed with until they died, all because of that one line...?
"Who knows? Maybe it will, maybe it won't." All Dave could do was try his best to talk Uncle Madara around, so he wouldn't turn evil again in a couple of years.
"Was building a Village with Hashirama really the right choice...? Can this truly bring peace to the shinobi world?" Madara asked because of what had happened the night before.
He had thought that building a Village with Hashirama would bring about peace, but the events of the previous night had cast a shadow of doubt over his long-held belief. With the Village established, the Land of Fire was indeed peaceful and free of war. Yet what had happened yesterday made him realize that war might never disappear. The wars between clans during the Warring States Period might very well become wars between nations. Then... even more people would die...
"Uncle Madara, why think so much? Hehe, isn't being alive good enough? Don't you get tired of thinking about all that stuff every day? You've devoted half your life to building this Village. Can't you just enjoy yourself for a while?" Duy really wanted to slap some sense into him, but whether he would get beaten to death afterward was another question...
Madara Uchiha gave Dave a speechless look. This brat had gotten far too comfortable living in peace...
"Uncle Madara... are you missing someone? Don't tell me there's an auntie you like! Or did the auntie you liked die, and you've been thinking about her ever since? Oh!!!! Hiss..." Duy had dreamed up an entire saga of love and hatred, though he knew he was making it all up. Could an iron tree like Madara Uchiha ever blossom with love? If Madara Uchiha could fall in love, then Black Zetsu's mom would definitely drop dead.
Black Zetsu: ??? What the hell did my mom ever do to you?
Listening to the brat, Madara's lips twitched in exasperation, and he rapped Dave on the head. Dave looked at him, utterly aggrieved...
"I miss my younger brother..." Seeing Dave's eyes darting about, Madara thought he was dreaming up something inappropriate again. He could only sigh and toss out an offhand excuse, hoping to put an end to the brat's unsavory thoughts.
"Wow, Uncle Madara, you have a younger brother? What's his name? Is he married? Is he handsome? How come I've never met him?" Duy's eyes lit up. He understood now.
He understood everything. Uncle Madara just missed his brother. Exactly! Uncle Madara was lonely now. Aside from Dave, the only person in the Village he could really talk to was Hashirama. Neither Dave nor Hashirama could keep him company every day, leaving Uncle Madara with nothing to do but think about all sorts of nonsense. Peace in the shinobi world? What a load of crap. Uncle Madara was just a brother-obsessed guy who missed his little brother! Give him his brother back, and Dave refused to believe he would still be stupid enough to brood over peace in the shinobi world.
"He's dead. Your father killed him." At that, Madara's voice grew noticeably colder...
The atmosphere between them abruptly turned cold as well...
"...I shouldn't drag you into the grudge between your father and me." Madara reined in his aura and closed his eyes as he spoke.
"Uncle Madara... what was your brother's name...?" After another awkward silence, Dave asked... Of course, he knew Madara's brother was named Izuna. He simply wouldn't say so.
"Izuna... Uchiha Izuna..." Madara paused, then slowly answered...
"Uncle Madara... ever since I met you... I've felt that you were very lonely... and that you hated my father deeply... Was it all because of Uncle Izuna...?" Duy asked.
"..." Madara said nothing... but Dave could tell from his eyes that this was the reason...
"Uncle Madara... if... I mean, if... I could bring Uncle Izuna back to life... could you stop hating my father...? Could you... be a little happier every day...?" Duy thought for a moment before slowly speaking...
"Kid! Do you know what you're saying?" Madara's Sharingan suddenly flared to life as he stared at Dave with a grave expression. His powerful aura sent violent shivers through the villagers seated around them.
Duy hadn't said this without reason. If he could greatly increase his Chakra in the future, reaching Kage Level or even Super Kage Level, there might be a chance. He remembered a plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2 called the Revival Radish. In the game, it revived plants that had already died. If brought into the shinobi world, its effect should be to revive the dead.
But Dave wasn't certain, either. All the plants he had unlocked so far were from the classic version of Plants vs. Zombies. He had no idea whether he would eventually unlock plants from the second game.
"Uncle Madara... you know my Wood Release is different from my uncle's... Every time my Chakra increases by a certain amount, I can summon new plants to help me fight... I have a feeling... that when my Chakra reaches my father's level, or even yours and my uncle's, I'll be able to summon a plant that can bring the dead back to life..." All Dave could do was dangle that promise before him, hoping to keep him from overthinking things in the future...
Since he had transmigrated into the world of Naruto, he really wanted to make up for the regrets left by the original story...
"..." Madara froze... He simply stared at Dave without saying a word...
His mind went blank... He didn't know what to say... or what to think... Did he miss Izuna? He certainly did... If Izuna came back to life, then he really could set aside this matter of peace in the shinobi world. Thinking back to what Dave had just said, he realized the kid was right. He had spent half his life fighting wars. Couldn't he settle down and enjoy himself for a while?
A short while later.
"Kid, I know what I should do from now on." A wicked smile appeared on Madara's face as he spoke slowly.
"?" Something's wrong. Something's definitely wrong. Uncle Madara, there's something wrong with that smile. You're scaring the kid...
"Next, I'll search the shinobi world for anything that can increase your Chakra. Three years. Within three years, I'll get your Chakra up to your father's level, or even mine and Hashirama's." Madara now had a new goal.
That goal was to bring six-year-old Dave up to his father's level, or even Madara and Hashirama's, within three years! It would be extremely difficult, but the harder something was, the more excited Madara became.
His goals were clear now. First, find something that could increase a person's Chakra, and it absolutely had to be harmless! If Dave were pushed to his death because of Madara's selfish desires, Madara would never forgive himself. Second, dancing... hmm... he still couldn't stop dancing... It was his hobby.
