Although Decidueye could fly, it knew very few Flying-type moves, especially ones like Gust, and had no Water-type moves available at all.

Its only options were Ghost-type and Grass-type moves. Leaf Storm in particular was one of Decidueye's specialties, but using it in a situation like this? Was it afraid it wasn't dying fast enough?

Jefferson had never expected Anna's departure alone to suddenly put him in such a difficult position. He had thought that even in a one-on-two battle, he could at least put up a fight, perhaps even take out one of the opposing Pokémon. Yet now, he couldn't even find an opening to attack.

"Boiling a frog slowly... Has Xiao Ran been reading The Art of War lately?" Qiu Yuxuan teased with a smile, looking perfectly relaxed as she watched the battle.

Jefferson's defeat was already certain; it was only a matter of time. Delphox merely added another Fire Spin now and then, keeping Decidueye roasting over the flames. Its once-tender green leaves had all dried out and turned a dull yellow.

With Gardevoir's Confusion interfering, Decidueye also found it increasingly difficult to fly. It had nearly been caught by the flames several times and wasn't far from defeat.

"Tell him to come down. There's no point anymore!" Franklin said from the spectator stands, pinching the bridge of his nose.

He had never expected that after two consecutive rounds, they would have taken out only one opposing Pokémon. Although Gardevoir and Delphox had expended a great deal of stamina, they clearly still had something left.

"Wait a little longer. Let Delphox keep burning. Ideally, we can force another Overheat out of it. Then, when it's our turn, at least that Pokémon will have to be switched out!" Janice analyzed calmly beside him.

"Yes, you're right!" Franklin nodded.
