"What? Getting cold feet? And you think you can get the upper hand with Yueyue like this?" Xiao Ran teased with a smile. Then his expression changed, and the Gardevoir beside him fired a Psyshock off to the side.
Bam! Rubble rained down as a Doomsday Cult Pokémon Trainer with a Golbat and a Weezing was blasted out of hiding. He was not particularly strong and was probably just a lookout.
"Toxtricity! Shock Wave!" Athena immediately shouted.
Two streaks of electricity flashed past. The Golbat and Weezing, both merely Gym Leader Class, were electrocuted into unconsciousness before they even realized what was happening.
"Gardevoir, Hypnosis!" Xiao Ran called. The Doomsday Cult operative opposite them was instantly hypnotized, his attempt to summon another Pokémon coming to a halt.
Their swift, efficient sequence of moves left Jiang Cheng dumbfounded. Before he could recover, Xiao Ran and Athena were already standing in front of the man.
"What's happening down below? How much farther down is it? How many people are guarding it?"
