Background / History

Zhen Yuanzi resides at Wuzhuang Temple on Longevity Mountain. When his sworn brother Hongyun was ambushed for his Hongmeng Purple Qi, Zhen Yuanzi rushed to help but was held back by Eastern Emperor Taiyi. Hongyun died by self-detonation; Zhen Yuanzi preserved a wisp of his remnant soul and developed a lasting grudge against the Demon Race 119 120 160.

He subsequently aided Qin Mu against the Demon Race at Taiyin Star and joined the Human Race’s war against them. During that war, his Earth Book held off Eastern Emperor Taiyi’s Eastern Emperor Bell in a stalemate 152 206 209. Qin Mu later offered a path for Hongyun’s remaining true-spirit imprint to enter reincarnation as a human. Zhen Yuanzi agreed to join the Human Race, then used the Earth Book to block Nuwa’s attack on them 225 242.

After becoming Imperial Tutor and attaining sainthood, Zhen Yuanzi vowed to protect the Human Race and use the Earth Book to safeguard its Fortune. Hongyun’s true spirit was later placed within the Six Paths of Reincarnation to be nourished before a future rebirth 246 252.
