Background / History

Dijun sought to strengthen the Demon Race by recruiting the Three Pure Ones, first inviting them to the Heavenly Court under the pretext of a Dao discussion and banquet. Their contemptuous refusal forced him to recognize that influence required strength. He successfully recruited Fuxi and Nuwa instead, granting them the positions of Xi Huang and Wa Huang. Nuwa's future sainthood made their allegiance especially valuable to his long-term plans. 11 12

Dijun also recruited Kunpeng as the Demon Master by promising to help him seize Hongyun's Hongmeng Purple Qi. He later ordered four Demon Gods to follow Kunpeng's arrangements against Hongyun. When the Three Pure Ones began accepting disciples, Dijun ordered Demon Race prodigies to seek admission, hoping to give his faction a connection to their lineages. 23 29 114

Dijun treated Fuxi and Nuwa as important allies within the Heavenly Court. When Fuxi sought to complete his formation prototype, Dijun entrusted him with the River Diagram and Luo Shu, two of his Companion Supreme Treasures, to aid the endeavor. He retrieved them before the decisive battle with the Purple Mansion Immortal Court. 49 81

During the conflict with East King Duke, Dijun and Eastern Emperor Taiyi pursued their enemy into Zifu Prefecture. East King Duke's attempt to unleash a sealed ancient Demon Commander backfired; the being, later identified as Jidu, killed him and overwhelmed Dijun and Taiyi, forcing the two brothers to retreat. Hongjun intervened before Jidu could kill them. 82 83 85

Dijun sought a Heavenly Marriage with the Taiyin Star goddesses Xi He and Chang Xi, believing the union of Solar and Taiyin origins would benefit his cultivation. Although he had long been fond of the sisters, he rejected his subordinates' suggestion that they be forced into the marriage, recognizing that an unwilling union would not receive Heaven's blessing. Xi He ultimately rejected him publicly after Qin Mu intervened. Dijun later completed a Heavenly Marriage with Nuwa's mount, the Seven-Colored Divine Phoenix, receiving immense Heavenly Merit and advancing to the Sub-Saint realm. 142 154 158

Dijun later pursued supremacy over the Witch Clan. After discovering that weapons tempered with Human Race vital blood could pierce Witch bodies, he approved a covert operation against remote human tribes despite Fuxi's warning that Nuwa and Laozi could retaliate. He subsequently sought Nuwa's approval for the slaughter, arguing that it served the Demon Race's greater plan. 163 203 He also planned the Demon Race's military expansion after attaining sainthood, beginning with the Dragon Race before turning against the Witch Clan. 316 318

Dijun contested the newly forming Underworld's authority when he arrived with Taiyi, Kunpeng, and Fuxi to claim the Book of Life and Death and the Judge's Brush. Qin Mu opposed their claim. 178

Sainthood

Dijun entered a mysterious passage in the Chaotic Void in pursuit of greater power. In the foreign realm beyond it, his laws and Solar True Fire vanished, leaving him powerless. A mysterious man offered him a strand of Hongmeng Purple Qi not produced by the Heavenly Dao, in exchange for future cooperation once Dijun became a Saint. The figure also ordered him to place a Blood Bead in the Demon Race's core territory and feed it one Demon Race living being each day. Dijun accepted despite recognizing the unknown figure's likely ulterior motives. 285 286 287

To prove the Dao, Dijun gathered the Demon Race in the Heavenly Realm and declared that the assembly was for his sainthood rather than war. He used a blood sacrifice of Demon Race beings, summoned Demon Race Destiny, and revealed merit connected to Nuwa's creation of humanity and Kunpeng's creation of writing. He had borrowed Nuwa's merit but forced Kunpeng to surrender his; the confrontation drove Kunpeng to join the Western Teachings. 289 292 294 295 310 312

His revelation of Hongmeng Purple Qi silenced the powers who had dismissed his attempt. By combining the Purple Qi, the two merits, Demon Race Destiny, and power from the sacrifice, Dijun attained the Saintly Fruit Status. His ascension made the Demon Race the only faction described as having two Saints, with Nuwa later becoming a Demon Race Saint at his request. 313 315

Unlike Saints whose Purple Qi originated with Hongjun, Dijun was not bound to the Primordial World's Heavenly Dao. This made him an anomaly in Hongjun's and the Heavenly Dao's eyes, though they could not directly eliminate him because he belonged to the current era and was involved in the Calamity. 286 314 342

Dijun can assume a massive Three-legged Golden Crow true form. In battle, he is surrounded by Solar True Fire capable of burning and corroding Witch Clan warriors into nothingness. 341

Dijun is ambitious, calculating, and intensely focused on the Demon Race's rise. He can suppress personal anger when a confrontation is strategically unwise, as shown when he allowed the Three Pure Ones to depart rather than provoke future Saints. 12

He could also be considerate toward valued allies and prospective partners. He lent Fuxi his River Diagram and Luo Shu without hesitation to assist with Fuxi's formation, and he refused to force Xi He and Chang Xi into a Heavenly Marriage because unwilling participants would not receive Heaven's blessing. 49 142

He is also ruthless in pursuit of power. Witch–Demon War and Final Death

After returning, Dijun devastated the retreating Witch Clan with Solar True Fire and severely wounded Zhurong and Chi You. He subsequently entered seclusion to stabilize his restored Saint body. When Da Yi shot down the suns, Dijun sensed the loss of his sons and became enraged.
