Background / History

Tang Ya is one of the Tang Sect’s remaining heirs, appearing alongside Bei Bei and the newly recruited Huo Yuhao. She introduces herself to Tian Chen as a fourth-year Shrek Academy student and helps seek promising recruits for the declining sect 11 12.

The Iron Blood Sect destroyed her family’s sect and occupied its former headquarters. Tie Li and his son Tie Tang had bribed the city guards before launching the nighttime raid. Believing her parents dead, Tang Ya spent ten years waiting for an opportunity to avenge them and the slain Tang Sect disciples 36 233.

Appearance

  • Hair and clothing: Long black hair tied into a ponytail; initially wears a pale-blue fitted outfit 11.
  • Eyes: Described as phoenix eyes. They temporarily turn blood-red when dangerous dark energy surfaces during cultivation 35 105.
  • Bearing after awakening: Changes from an energetic young girl to a cooler, more mature and alluring beauty 36.
  • Martial Soul manifestation: Following her twin awakening, scarlet Blood God Blue Silver Grass appears in her right hand, while sapphire-blue Life Blue Silver Grass with faint gold markings emerges from her left palm 194.

Personality

Tang Ya is friendly but persistently curious. Her Martial Soul’s resonance with Tian Chen drives her to follow him and question his background, although she accepts his refusal to join the Tang Sect. After pressing him into revealing his second Martial Soul, she apologizes and promises to protect his secret 12 35.

Her growing affection initially comes with insecurity: she doubts whether her appearance and cultivation talent make her worthy of Tian Chen. She eventually confesses directly, firmly rejects Bei Bei’s attempts to reclaim her affection, and states that Tian Chen’s other relationships do not change her choice 41 43 50 59.

She is protective of friends and ruthless toward enemies. She risks herself to rescue Jiang Nannan, yet deliberately makes Tie Li witness his son’s death during her revenge. Her dangerous devouring instincts do not always dictate her actions: she stops herself from consuming Xu Sanshi’s bloodline power 98 110 233.

Her attachment to the Tang Sect also evolves. Initially distressed by Soul Tools displacing hidden weapons, she accepts the need for technological adaptation and ultimately entrusts the sect’s legacy to Tian Chen rather than insisting on rebuilding its old traditions unchanged 55 239.

Abilities & Skills

Blood God Blue Silver Grass

Her original Blue Silver Grass develops a powerful blood-and-devouring aspect through its connection with Tian Chen’s Blood Emperor Body, then becomes one of her two distinct Martial Souls 98 194.

  • Pervasive growth: Sprouts beneath opponents and can grow anywhere, bypassing ordinary defensive formations 233 253.
  • Regeneration: Severed fragments sprout again; opponents struggle to escape because torn grass regrows 98 253.
  • Piercing attacks: Penetrates Xu Sanshi’s Black Tortoise shell and creates five-meter spikes during the Iron Blood Sect assault 98 233.
  • Position sensing: Uses her grass to locate members of Qianling Academy’s formation 253.
  • Spiritual interference: Spiritual power carried within the grass causes Shen Ce dizziness and a stunning effect 253.

Devouring Attribute

The latent devouring power in her Blue Silver Grass resonates with Tian Chen’s Blood Emperor Body. Its awakening greatly strengthens her cultivation, Martial Soul traits, and existing skills 11 35 98.

  • Absorbs Soul Power from enemy Soul Skills and converts it into usable energy, unless the incoming energy specifically counters the ability 98.
  • Her Blood-Colored Spiderweb contains Xu Sanshi’s shock wave, absorbs its remaining force, and becomes thicker and tougher 98.
  • Can provoke a craving to consume an opponent’s bloodline power; Tang Ya suppresses this urge during her fight with Xu Sanshi 98.
  • Uncontrolled awakening initially produces dark energy and blood-red eyes. Electrolux’s intervention allows her to awaken safely 35 36.
  • Body Sect observers later note that she has no detectable evil aura despite her unusual rings 253.

Life Blue Silver Grass

A second Martial Soul emerges after the Chaos Spirit Pearl strengthens her original Blue Silver Grass bloodline and separates it from the opposing devouring attribute 194.

  • Appears deep blue with golden markings and radiates an exceptionally strong aura of life 194.
  • Is listed separately from Blood God Blue Silver Grass; it is not confirmed to be the Blue Silver Emperor 194.

Blood Emperor Bind

Her first Soul Skill causes blood-red grass to emerge beneath targets and coil around them 233.

  • Immobilizes groups of Iron Blood Sect disciples and suspends Tie Tang in the air 233.
  • Stops Xu Sanshi’s momentum during his Divine Turtle Crash 98.

Blood Shaping

Her fourth Soul Skill freely reshapes Blue Silver Grass into objects. It comes from the customized Soul Ring Tian Chen creates for her 44 253.

  • Demonstrated forms include a blood-red longsword and a large patterned shield 44.
  • Produces the Blue Silver Overlord Spear, which shatters Shen Ce’s Thousand Strike Spear and blasts Qianling Academy’s team away 253.

Additional Blood Constructs

Tang Ya combines restraints, barriers, and sustained attacks to overwhelm defensive opponents 98.

  • Blood Cage: Traps Xu Sanshi outside the teahouse 98.
  • Blood Tornadoes and Blood Chains: Follow her binding attacks and maintain pressure on him 98.
  • Limit: Xu Sanshi’s awakened Black Tortoise Bloodline begins cracking her barriers, and the prolonged battle consumes much of her Soul Power 98.

Rampaging Devil Crocodile Soul Spirit

Tian Chen contracts this Soul Spirit to Tang Ya because its blood attribute and exceptional toughness suit Blood God Blue Silver Grass 195.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor left leg bone — Grants flight. Tang Ya uses it to evade An Lengye’s Frost Vortex and attack from above 253.
  • Invisibility Cloak — Given to her by Tian Chen; used to follow Jiang Nannan and conceal both women from Xu Sanshi’s men. A Xuanming elder locates them by spreading black water across the ground 110.
  • Communication soul tool — Allows her to notify Tian Chen before secretly pursuing Jiang Nannan 110.
  • Pocket watch with a family photograph — Keeps it with her while traveling to avenge her parents 233.
  • Reclaimed Tang Sect headquarters — Converted into Soul Hall and placed within Tian Chen’s Map of Mountains and Rivers; she presents the Tang Sect legacy to him as her “dowry” 235 239.

  • Bei Bei — Tang Sect disciple and former emotional attachment. She describes their bond as master and disciple, rejects his possessive pursuit, and later criticizes his failure to act on promises of revenge and restoration 41 50 59 326.
  • Jiang Nannan — Close friend and confidante who teases her about Tian Chen. Tang Ya helps uncover Xu Sanshi’s coercion and intervenes to protect her 41 50 105 110.
  • Tang Wei — Father. Reunites with Tang Ya after the Iron Blood Sect’s destruction and entrusts her to Tian Chen at their wedding 233 235.

  • Electrolux — Helps cleanse the sinister energy released during her awakening and later attends her wedding 35 36 235.

  • Xu Jiujiu — Welcomed warmly into Tian Chen’s circle after identifying herself as his fiancée 290.
  • Xu Sanshi — Adversary whom Tang Ya defeats, then confronts again after discovering his use of Jiang Nannan’s captive mother as leverage 98 110.
