Background / History
Bronya spent her early childhood at the Underworld’s orphanage, which she later revisits with Seele. After becoming Cocolia’s adopted daughter, she was raised under strict expectations as Belobog’s future leader. Her days revolved around studying, etiquette lessons, and training, with constant reminders to uphold her station and the Architects’ teachings 6 17.
Her upbringing left her with little personal freedom. Although she recognizes the hardships of Seele’s childhood, she envies Seele’s independence. During her return to the Underworld, Bronya also recovers memories of her origins—things Cocolia had never told her—and eventually confronts her mother about that concealment 17 18.
Appearance
Personality
Bronya initially places considerable weight on duty and orders. When the fugitives enter the Fragmentum, she refuses to presume them dead because her instructions are to capture them alive. Despite warnings about Zhang Xiu’s strength, she intends to investigate personally 7.
She is formal and earnest, sometimes to Seele’s embarrassment. At the orphanage, she immediately apologizes when her admiration for Seele’s independence sounds dismissive of Underworld suffering. Her sheltered upbringing also makes her attempted “vulgar language” mild enough to send Seele into laughter 17.
Her loyalty to Cocolia does not erase her concern for Belobog’s people. Exposure to the Underworld’s suffering turns that concern into open defiance: she rejects her mother’s contempt for its residents and insists that the people, rather than the Stellaron, must determine their future 12 18 19.

- Severs a mechanical joint with a bullet, forcing Svarog onto one knee 16.
- Provides ranged support against Cocolia, coordinating with Seele’s close-range attack; Cocolia blocks her shot 21.
Command and Administration
- Leads Silvermane Guards alongside Gepard during the pursuit of the Astral Express party 7.
- Directs Pela to maintain order while she continues the pursuit into the Fragmentum 7.
- Leaves a letter intended to help the outsiders obtain assistance from Gepard and Serval 17 18.
- Plans the Underworld’s reconstruction after Cocolia delegates authority to her, balancing competing needs against limited resources 23.
Resistance to the Stellaron
- Resists the Stellaron’s temptation and whispers through willpower at Everwinter Hill, though she struggles under its influence 19.
- Seele’s rescue helps her break free of its beguilement and make an independent choice against Cocolia’s plan 19.
Equipment / Items
- Gun — Her ranged weapon, used to disable automatons and support the battle against Cocolia 16 21.
- Transformed Stellaron seed — Yaoshi extracts and refines the Stellaron, after which Zhang Xiu gives the resulting seed to Bronya. He intends it to repay Belobog’s IPC debt and offers further assistance if outsiders cause trouble over it 21.
Relationships
- Cocolia — Adoptive mother and superior. Bronya initially obeys her despite disagreements, then challenges her treatment of the Underworld and rejects her Stellaron-driven vision. She remains emotionally attached to Cocolia and tries to approach her after her defeat. Cocolia survives and later entrusts Bronya with administrative authority 6 18 19 21 23.
- Seele — Initially a hostile Underworld counterpart, later a trusted companion with a developing romantic bond. Seele helps Bronya face the truth about Cocolia, promises to risk her life to save her, and fulfills that promise at Everwinter Hill. Their reconstruction disagreements do not weaken their commitment to facing the future together 8 16 17 19 23.
- Zhang Xiu — Initially a fugitive she pursues, later an ally. He arranges her capture because he considers her trust essential to saving Belobog. After the final battle, he entrusts her with the Stellaron seed and offers help against future outside interference 7 21.
- Gepard — Fellow Silvermane Guard officer and protector. He accompanies her pursuit despite knowing Zhang Xiu’s strength and tries to shield her before succumbing to Sampo’s mist 7.
- Serval — An ally Bronya directs the outsiders toward through her letter. Serval receives the letter and agrees to assist their Stellaron investigation 17 18.
- Oleg — Wildfire representative who questions her intentions. He welcomes her pledge to defend the Underworld as resolve worthy of the next Supreme Guardian 12.
- Sampo — Helps ambush and incapacitate her with knockout mist, enabling Zhang Xiu’s group to take her to the Underworld 7.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Pursuit and Capture
Bronya first appears arguing that Cocolia’s sacrifices are meaningless, but leaves when her mother dismisses her. After Cocolia orders the visitors arrested, Bronya and Gepard pursue them through Belobog and into the Fragmentum 6 7.
Zhang Xiu deliberately waits for her rather than escaping, believing she could become an essential ally. Sampo’s mist incapacitates Bronya and the guards; Yaoshi carries her underground, concealed beneath a cloth to avoid residents’ hostility toward the Silvermane Guards 7.
Confronting the Underworld’s Reality
After Bronya disappears from the hotel, the party finds her threatened by vagrants. Seele intercepts a bullet aimed at her, then confronts her as a representative of the Overworld’s neglect. Bronya remains defensive but insists on meeting the Underworld’s leader 8 9.
Her position changes as she witnesses conditions underground. She pledges to defend its residents because they belong to Belobog too, and joins the confrontation with Svarog. His records reveal both the Stellaron’s responsibility for the disaster and the Supreme Guardians’ concealment of the truth. Bronya initially struggles to accept that Cocolia has been corrupted; Seele helps her recover her resolve 12 15 16.
Returning to Cocolia
Following an intimate conversation with Seele at the orphanage, Bronya returns to the Overworld alone to confront her mother. She leaves the others a letter outlining her intentions and a way to seek help from Gepard and Serval 17.
Cocolia welcomes her with relief until she learns where Bronya has been. When Cocolia dismisses the Underworld’s residents as filth and orders her seized, Bronya openly refuses to submit. She demands answers about the blockade, the soldiers sent into the Fragmentum, and her concealed origins. Cocolia then takes her to the Stellaron 18.
Rejecting the Stellaron
At Everwinter Hill, Seele rescues Bronya while she struggles against the Stellaron’s whispers. Given a choice by Cocolia, Bronya thanks her for raising her but refuses to support her plan. She declares that Belobog’s future belongs to its people 19.
Bronya participates in the ensuing battle, firing on Cocolia. When her mother falls, she rushes toward her, but Seele holds her back. Yaoshi prevents Cocolia’s attempted self-sacrifice by extracting the Stellaron, and Zhang Xiu gives its transformed seed to Bronya 21.
Reconstruction Without Inauguration
Cocolia’s survival changes Bronya’s expected succession: her inauguration as Supreme Guardian does not take place. Cocolia publicly lifts the Underworld blockade and later delegates authority to Bronya, who begins planning reconstruction. Bronya and Seele clash over priorities and scarce resources, but agree that they will overcome their difficulties together 22 23.
