History

Third Era

The Third Era contained nine great sacred lands in addition to the two transcendent powers, Beyond Heaven and the Nine Heavens Celestial Court. Longevity Great Talent describes its sacred-land lords as powerful enough to contend with the leading Fifth Era factions 403.

Beyond Heaven and the Nine Heavens Celestial Court destroyed four sacred lands during that era, leaving the five-power order later documented by Chen Fan. The Five Realms Gate survived because the Supreme Dao Immortal Venerable did not strike it while settling accounts 398.

Fourth Era

The Venerable Lord of Yin-Yang Authority returned and founded the Great Li Dynasty. Nine Realms Gate’s predecessor also attacked Penglai Immortal Island during this era 398.

Longevity Great Talent recounts that the returned Venerable Lord joined Nine Realms Gate against Penglai’s Island Lord, apparently betraying Beyond Heaven. Chen Fan later concludes that this apparent betrayal was part of a trap designed to test his connection to future simulations, and that the Venerable Lord’s allegiance remained with Beyond Heaven 402 561.

Discovery of the Actual Realm

Chen Fan learns that the world he had repeatedly attempted to save or overturn was merely the fabricated Immortal Realm. His earlier victories had brought him toward escape from that enclosure, not mastery over the actual Supreme True Realm 373.

After witnessing Lin Feng’s confrontation with Nine Heavens, Chen Fan begins investigating the true realm through Number One Other-Self. He searches cultivators’ souls, reads historical texts, and surveys its Fifth Era factions 391 398.

Old Self and the Established Present

Within the domain previously understood as the Supreme True Realm, Old Self gradually assimilates the Present and ascends to a higher dimension. He effectively becomes the Heaven and Earth of that established Present 252 300.

His Reincarnation ability can restart the Present—including its myriad worlds, World Sea, and Supreme True Realm—while preserving his memories. Each reset returns it to the era’s beginning, but established facts such as the creation of a Void-Proven Fruit Position cannot be undone. His control over Fourth Era beings excludes those at Spirit Transformation Dao Master level and above 300.

Rules and Hidden Structures

Resistance to Golden Fingers

• Past Li Ping identifies immunity to Golden Finger influence as a defining property of the Supreme True Realm, unlike most great worlds known to Chen Fan 633.
• This explains why Li Ping and Wang Hao do not simply use their Golden Fingers to reshape it and appear reluctant to engage with it 633.
• Otherworldly Demons born in True Realms are generally powerful; those originating from the Supreme True Realm receive especially high priority in Li Ping’s account 633.

Rejection of Spirit Transformation Power

• The realm rejects Spirit Transformation Dao Masters. This restriction repeatedly limits Chen Fan’s use of temporarily amplified essence 196 225.
• The rule also applies during his later battle in the true realm: after amplification, he must move into the River of Time 449.
• Documented exceptions: Heaven and Earth’s contingency, the Lord of the Heavenly Court, can act without the usual restriction. Chen Fan’s essence developed through extreme Qi Refining limit-breaking also allows him to remain despite comparable power 225 330.

Assimilation and Incomplete Heaven and Earth
