Bibi Dong grew up inside Spirit Hall, where her sheltered life revolved around cultivation. As Saintess, she recognized Ning Lin’s talent for martial-soul theory and granted him a nominal position at the Theory Institute. Before his intervention in her history, his mediocre cultivation aptitude caused him to fade from prominence and eventually leave Spirit Hall 1 2 5.

She initially trusted Yu Xiaogang and found some of his explanations insightful. However, she objected when he asked her to remove the restricted Study of Ancient Exotic Beast Martial Souls from Spirit Hall’s archives, warning that unauthorized removal constituted betrayal of the Hall 3 4.

Ning Lin’s Intervention

Facing execution in the present, Ning Lin used his history-editing system to insert himself into Bibi Dong’s past. He chose her encounter with Yu Xiaogang’s research rather than directly altering a major turning point 2.

When Ning Lin accused Yu Xiaogang of plagiarism, Bibi Dong demanded evidence instead of immediately siding with either man. She inspected the manuscript, followed Ning Lin to the Central Library, and personally compared its contents with published sources. Once convinced, she ordered Yu Xiaogang out of her sight 3 4 5.

Ning Lin comforted her afterward and invited her to dinner. His knowledge of medicine, alchemy, and ancient lore impressed her, and she eagerly joined his expedition to the Star Dou Great Forest. Their teamwork and companionship developed into romantic attachment; she left him a note arranging a meeting at the Back Mountain Training Ground 5 6.

Defiance of Qian Xunji

Yu Xiaogang reported their journey to Pope Qian Xunji, who forcibly summoned Bibi Dong. She rejected his insistence that her position required her to abandon personal relationships, declaring that the Saintess was a person rather than a tool 6 7.

Ning Lin fought through twelve Soul Emperors to reach the Papal Hall. Bibi Dong shielded him from her teacher, accepted his confession of love, and intercepted Qian Xunji’s Angel Holy Sword with her twin martial souls. Gravely injured, she threatened to die if Qian Xunji killed Ning Lin, forcing the pope to hesitate 8 9 10.

Qian Xunji subsequently imprisoned them in a secret chamber and threatened Ning Lin to coerce her. Ning Lin broke his chains and gave her the Heavenly Unity Pill, enabling her breakthrough to level 90. He then appeared to perish while protecting her from Qian Xunji, driving her into a furious counterattack 11 12.

Bibi Dong could not kill Qian Xunji during that confrontation, but later ended his life herself and became pope. Believing Ning Lin dead, she continued mourning him and never chose a Douluo title because he was supposed to name it for her. Ning Lin later reveals that his apparent self-destruction was a calculated performance, not a permanent death 12 14.

Intervention at the Public Trial

News of Ning Lin’s impending execution initially seemed like another political purge to Bibi Dong. Hu Liena’s discovery of his old Spirit Hall records revived her memories, prompting her to travel to Heaven Dou City under the official justification of defending Spirit Hall’s interests 2.

She arrived just before Tang San’s Clear Sky Hammer struck Ning Lin, blocking it with a purple-gold barrier. Ignoring the assembled crowd, she embraced and kissed Ning Lin, then slapped him and demanded to know why he had stayed away 19 20.

Ning Lin claimed that rebirth had ruined his constitution and talent, leaving him ashamed to stand beside her. Bibi Dong accepted this explanation, answered with tenderness, and publicly declared him her man. His internal narration presents the reunion as a deliberately staged performance, so his explanation is not an independently established account of his condition 20 21.

When Yu Xiaogang attacked her reputation and invoked Qian Xunji’s abuse, she was visibly shaken. Nevertheless, she authorized Hu Liena to recount Ning Lin’s efforts to save her and expose Yu Xiaogang’s involvement in the crisis 21 25 26 27.

Bibi Dong then placed the female witness against Ning Lin under mental control and protected her from Tang Sect intimidation. The witness identified Tang San as the organizer of the frame-up and described abuse by Ma Hongjun, turning public opinion against their faction 29 30.

Battle in Heaven Dou City

Tang San and Heaven Dou’s experts attacked Bibi Dong after the testimony undermined the trial. She neutralized their first assault with Undying Body and Death Domain, then defeated Tang Hao and Tang San’s combined strike with Space-Rending Abyss Slash 31 32.

Nearly twenty fighters eventually joined the assault. Bibi Dong activated both martial soul avatars and held them off, although the sustained battle strained her spiritual power. When Ma Hongjun seized Ning Lin as a hostage, she became distracted, suffered an injury from Chen Xin, and halted her offense to protect Ning Lin 32 33.

Once she recognized that Ning Lin was safe and had concealed his own countermeasures, she attacked without restraint. She shattered Tang Hao’s ring-detonation-powered Great Sumeru Hammer and overwhelmed Chen Xin when he intervened. Tang Hao escaped by expending additional soul power 35.

Reunion and Marriage Announcement

After Ning Lin was declared innocent and restored as city lord, Bibi Dong caught him when he collapsed from exhaustion. She refused an imperial physician and carried him to the City Lord’s Residence, where their reunion continued in private 37.

Ning Lin’s comfort allowed her to express the pain she had carried through their separation. During a later garden walk, she promised to protect him and make him the future imperial consort of the Spirit Hall Empire 38 39.

The following morning, she issued a papal decree announcing their wedding at the Papal Hall in Spirit City in one month. • The secret-chamber outcome: Ning Lin’s first rewritten history is described as freeing Bibi Dong from the years of abuse that shaped her original fate. Later trial scenes nevertheless invoke assault and prolonged suffering, with her reaction presented as supporting the accusation 14 21 26.
• The breakthrough pill: The chamber sequence names it the Heavenly Unity Pill, refined using herbs from the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
