Gu Yuanqing defended North Spring Mountain from Crimson Dragon Cult attackers and drew powerful martial artists there with rumors of his flying sword. As he forged a new cultivation method, the Crimson Dragon Cult attacked the Demon Realm Seals, and Yuan Yingsong tried to pressure him into intervening.
Gu Yuanqing defended North Spring Mountain from the Crimson Dragon Cult and its allies, then completed his transformation into a Grandmaster. Gong Xin and Zuo Qiu's attacks continued, leaving Gu Yuanqing expecting another assault.
Gu Yuanqing defended North Spring Mountain, clashed with the Lingxu Sect, and helped Great Qian survive Zuo Qiu’s Blood Demon Array without leaving his mountain. As Li Miaoxuan departed through the Heaven Gate, North Spring Mountain transformed into a nascent cave heaven, and Gu Yuanqing began fishing prey from the Demon Realm.
Gu Yuanqing defeated Ji Qingyun, advanced into the Fire Dao Realm, and learned that North Spring Mountain had entered the Demon Realm while remaining connected to the Floating World. As powerful visitors and new demands gathered around the mountain, he invited Zhang Xuanlin in to talk.
Gu Yuanqing strengthened North Spring Mountain, resisted the Heavenly Human Sacred Hall’s demands, and gathered materials to build his divine platform. As conflict between the Human Race and Demon Race began, he arranged for the Iron-Eating Tribe to help him obtain the remaining materials.
Gu Yuanqing reached the Divine Platform Realm, discovered Li Chengyi was his son, and prepared the Floating World for the conflict foretold by the Heaven-Connecting Stele. When cultivators from the Slanting Moon World entered the Floating World, he began capturing and controlling them.
Gu Yuanqing used captured outsiders and Dao Halls to prepare the Floating World for the Slanting Moon World, then defeated demons and expanded his strength through alchemy. As Li Chengyi married Chen Binglan, conflict between the Iron Eater Tribe and Five Poisons Mountain drew Gu Yuanqing’s attention back to the Demon Realm.
Gu Yuanqing defended North Spring Mountain from demons and Heavenly Humans, sheltered the Iron Eater cubs, and broke through to the Void Heaven Realm. As the Trial Path and the World Conflict drew nearer, he investigated the Ancient Realm and the mystery within the Ancient Mirror.
Gu Yuanqing defended North Spring Mountain from the Demon Race, then entered the Ancient Realm to pursue Dao Souls. After surviving Wuyi City’s ghostly Full Moon and clashing with Yu Yunan, he left for Dongyuan City with Zheng Kun.
Gu Yuanqing’s fishing in the Ancient Realm brought powerful Dao Souls and changed his disposition, but Red Dust Wine helped him recover his sense of self. As the Demon Race and Human Race clashed and the Dragon Demon Ancestor awakened, Gu Yuanqing stood in the dragon’s path to protect North Spring Mountain.
Gu Yuanqing captured the Dragon Demon Ancestor, helped the human survivors retreat, and strengthened North Spring Mountain as he prepared for the Floating World’s advancement. In the Ancient Realm, his Dao Soul fishing method drew the attention of powerful sects, leaving him caught between the Sanyang Sect and the Illusionary Spirit Sect.
Gu Yuanqing honed his Dao at the Ancient Fishing Platform, then returned to North Spring Mountain and survived two Heavenly Change tribulations to become a Heavenly Human. After defeating Bai Hong and repelling Shentu Yu, he resumed cultivating and turned his attention to the Dragon Demon Ancestor.
Gu Yuanqing entered the Ancient Realm, clashed with Lu Chen and the Sanyang Sect, and refused to let the Illusionary Spirit Sect become involved in his disputes. After Liu Ruiyuan and Chen Baotian confronted him, Gu Yuanqing killed them and accepted that his conflict with the Sanyang Sect had begun.
Gu Yuanqing strengthened his cultivation while resisting the Sanyang Sect’s attempts to trap and kill him, and faced Pei Yutang’s challenges in the Ancient Realm. After a Chaos Realm threat emerged from the Demon Realm, he completed another tribulation and returned to confront the Sanyang Sect, where Pei Yutang came to meet him.
Gu Yuanqing defeated Pei Yutang, settled his conflict with the Sanyang Sect, and built up his strength while guiding the Floating World. When the North Sea sects challenged the Qian Yuan Sect over Huang Wenzhong’s death, Li Chengyi fought their leaders with Gu Yuanqing’s protection, leaving Gu Yuanqing to decide their fate.
Gu Yuanqing’s conflict with the North Sea sects drew the North Ming Immortal Sect’s attention, while the Mountain-Bearing Divine Turtle carried him into the Yunmeng Holy Land’s ancient pagoda and helped him advance. As the World Conflict approached, Li Miaoxuan fought the Sacred Heaven Sect, and Gu Yuanqing’s response to an attack on his soul-sealed agent left its Sect Master gravely injured.
Gu Yuanqing broke through to the Yin-Yang Realm as the Mountain-Bearing Divine Turtle transformed, then defended the Dragon Demon Realm from Demon God Mountain’s invasion. He killed Xu Wu and his companions, but Demon God Mountain’s North Suppressing Divine King intervened, while Shadow remained defiant in the Underground Demon Realm.
Gu Yuanqing led the Qian Yuan Realm through the World Conflict, then transformed North Spring Mountain into a grotto-heaven and strengthened his cultivation. As he pursued a path toward becoming a Void Immortal, the North Suppressing Divine King began investigating him over Xu Wu’s death.
Gu Yuanqing defeated Lie Shanhan, expanded the Qian Yuan Realm’s connections, and negotiated Lie Shanhan’s surrender as outside powers began coveting the realm. The arc ended with Lie Shanyi’s fleet arriving and Gu Yuanqing meeting him in battle.
