Qian Wanyu and the others temporarily sealed Toothless in an Ice Coffin to stop two merging Dragon Cores from deceiving them, then followed the Yin-Yang Spring’s ice outlet in search of its source. Qian Wanyu awoke on a platform surrounded by waterfalls, where Ding Ding caught a strange creature that looked like a small dragon.
Ding Ding brought back a creature caught in the Golden Silk Net, and Dongfang Minghui tried to check whether it was alive. The creature attacked her by biting her hand.
Dongfang Minghui treated a hostile little dragon after Ding Ding caught it, while she and Qian Wanyu discovered that the Soul-Yin Grass’s yin energy had been making her dangerously cold. She moved the grass into Qian Wanyu’s Soul Sea, then watched the little dragon escape toward the cliff as the others left to investigate the waterway.
Dongfang Minghui and Ding Ding encountered a river-dwelling creature that could escape by exchanging itself with other things, while Qian Wanyu's group was dragged into its lair and fought their way free. After Yuchi Shou identified the creature as an intelligent Worm with the ancient ability of Spatial Transposition, the group prepared to continue toward the Dragon Clan Lands with it in their care.
Dongfang Minghui and Qian Wanyu discovered that the maps showed opposing routes to the Dragon Clan Lands and crossed Mountain Stream, where Qian Wanyu and Ding Ding fought through giant worms. After releasing Little Hui, they continued onward, but Little Hui returned for help with its medicine as Dongfang Minghui grew concerned about Little Sprout’s changed temperament.
Dongfang Minghui and Qian Wanyu encountered a hidden group of worm people in the mountain’s mirror-like paths, and Dongfang Minghui was poisoned in an ambush. After Little Hui helped them obtain an antidote, Qian Wanyu decided to investigate the Worm Clan’s strange condition before continuing toward the Dragon Clan Lands.
After Mu Sheng lost a tooth on a hard fruit, Qian Wanyu concluded that the group was trapped on the reverse side of a mirror and led them toward the other side. Dongfang Minghui repeatedly woke with gaps in her memory while growing stronger, and the group learned from the Worm Clan that the mirror had split their souls and bodies; they continued onward with a reluctant guide.
Dongfang Minghui traveled with Qian Wanyu and Yuchi Shou while struggling with her missing memories, and she tended to Little Hui’s injuries. She discovered that Little Hui and the white-haired Little Hui had identical wounds, leaving their connection unexplained.
Qian Wanyu and Dongfang Minghui’s group reached the Worm Clan’s forbidden mountain and discovered that a mirror embedded in the cliff was likely the Soul-Severing Mirror, which had split the clan’s souls. Ding Ding fell unconscious while trying to help Qian Wanyu reach it, and the group ended with the mirror’s dangers still unknown and the decision to retrieve it unresolved.
Qian Wanyu recalled Ding Ding's unusual behavior near the mirror and realized retrieving it might not be easy.
Qian Wanyu and Yuchi Shou tried to retrieve the Soul-Severing Mirror, but Ding Ding’s contact with it caused it to transform into the Longevity Cauldron and drain their spiritual power. After learning Little Hui and White-Haired Little Hui hoped the mirror could reunite their split souls, Qian Wanyu agreed to try again with Little Hui’s help; the attempt ended with the mirror pulling her toward the mountain wall.
Qian Wanyu obtained the Soul-Severing Mirror at the cost of Little Hui’s life, and Dongfang Minghui’s dreams revealed the mirror’s role in Ding Ding’s past and lost memories. The group chose to investigate the mirror, and Qian Wanyu decided they should help Ding Ding recover those memories.
Qian Wanyu planned to use the Soul-Severing Mirror to restore the Worm Clan, while a storm forced the others to shelter in Ding Ding’s Longevity Cauldron as she endured seven days of lightning. After the rain transformed the mountain and Qian Wanyu went missing, Dongfang Minghui waited with Yuchi Shou, who prepared to test the mirror, before an icy hand touched her back.
Dongfang Minghui and her companions entered a primeval forest, where Ding Ding was trapped after plucking a Blue-Eyed Fruit. As Dongfang Minghui tried to negotiate with the old tree, Little Hui returned, and the chapter ended with vines capturing Yuchi Shou as he ignited a flame.
Dongfang Minghui and Qian Wanyu learned that an ancient tree held Ding Ding and controlled the forest in exchange for Lifespan-Extending Liquid, then planned to rescue Ding Ding and seize the treasure. Their plan triggered a battle with the ancient tree and its reinforcements, and the chapter ended with the group divided under attack and Little Hui missing.
Dongfang Minghui and Qian Wanyu fought their way through the Woods against a thousand-year-old tree spirit, then entered a cavern to find the Lifespan-Extending Liquid. They defeated the creature guarding it and found Little Lecher, Pig Immortal Grass, and Little Hui, but Little Hui was badly injured.
They retrieved what they had come for and prepared to leave the cave. Ding Ding took two glittering objects to give to Little Ninth, and the hole they had dug remained behind.
After the group escaped a scorpion swarm, Ding Ding accidentally lifted a stone marked Soul-Calming and unleashed a black-energy blade and a storm of flying weapons. The sky darkened as the danger closed in, leaving Qian Wanyu and the others facing the catastrophe Ding Ding had caused.
Qian Wanyu and Ding Ding faced the death aura and rogue swords unleashed from the Sword Mound while the others waited inside the Longevity Cauldron. After Ding Ding retrieved the Soul-Calming Stone and the sword that had been pinned beneath it, Qian Wanyu followed the sword back to the mound and found death aura streaming from a hole in the ground.
Qian Wanyu resealed the death aura with the golden blade and Soul-Calming Stone, then cultivated and advanced while the others waited by a shifting elemental shield near the suspected entrance to the Dragon Clan Lands. After testing the shield, she concluded it used six elements and realized their journey had exposed them to all ten elements of spiritual power.
The group tried to open the barrier blocking the way to the Dragon Clan Lands, while Dongfang Minghui waited for Ding Ding to wake and helped prepare for the attempt. Once the five elemental powers created an opening, she discovered the Iron Gate needed the iron fragments Toothless had collected, and Little Fatty revealed it could serve as the missing key.
Dongfang Minghui fitted the iron fragments into the door, but the gate remained motionless as the group waited outside the barrier. As the barrier drained their spiritual power and the Thunder Element changed into the Ice Element, she wondered if they had made a mistake.
Dongfang Minghui and her companions opened the iron door, entered a land where the Soul-Severing Mirror suppressed spiritual power, and were captured by savages who planned to sacrifice them. Dongfang Minghui escaped into a cave, found the other half of the mirror, and emerged into a wilderness where she could no longer find the way back.
Dongfang Minghui and Qian Wanyu reunited the two halves of the Soul-Severing Mirror, whose light restored their spiritual power and sent them to the Dragon Clan’s territory. Separated from her companions, Dongfang Minghui searched for them and confronted the Dragon Queen, claiming she had been the Dragon God’s younger sister a hundred years earlier.
