With his wounds healed, William slowly turned toward Marcus, who had yet to get up. His expression was strangely cold. "Marcus, hundreds of years have passed, and you haven't improved one bit."
Marcus smiled as he rose from the ground. "It looks like you've almost finished absorbing the power of the underworld fire, too."
William chuckled. "Back then, we were both fortunate enough to obtain a portion of the underworld fire's power. But it was so terrifying that we had to lie dormant for centuries to refine it. We agreed on five hundred years, yet you came out decades early and attacked me the moment we met. What, did you sense something while refining it, too?"
Marcus brushed the dust off himself and said sinisterly, "That's right. I believe you sensed it as well. The power of the underworld fire is extraordinary, but it isn't complete. It was divided into three portions back then, and we each have one. I'd very much like to know just how powerful it would be if all three were brought together."
William gave a sinister laugh. "So you set your sights on my portion. Hmph, aren't you being a little naive? Even if you got my portion, what would that accomplish?"
"The other portion is in China," Marcus said. "Once I have yours, I have my own way of finding the last one. You needn't worry about that."
Listening to their conversation, Chen Hao secretly rejoiced. Wasn't that third portion of underworld fire inside his Stone Statue Ghoul?
He hadn't expected all three portions to come together today.
A bold idea suddenly occurred to Chen Hao.
Hearing Marcus's words, William immediately laughed. "Then let's see whether you have what it takes!"
