Seeing his old friend's reaction, Sengoku felt much the same.
The turmoil inside him was no less intense than Garp's.
But what could they do? Helplessness hung over the silent office that day.
Neither of the two heavyweights spoke. Randall stood off to the side, keeping his eyes lowered and his thoughts to himself.
Only after a long while did Sengoku speak.
"Randall, tell me about that mysterious man again. I want to hear you describe him one more time."
He wanted both to take his mind off things and to satisfy his genuine curiosity about the man.
He had a persistent feeling that Randall knew something.
"What else is there to say, Fleet Admiral Sengoku? I've already told you everything I know!"
Randall spread his hands, looking utterly helpless.
Yet the more he acted that way, the more Sengoku suspected something was amiss.
But if Randall refused to talk, there was nothing he could do.
"All right. Just be prepared, kid. The World Government won't be happy with how this mission turned out. Who knows what nonsense they'll pull next," Sengoku said with a sigh.
Then he shook his head and dismissed Randall.
Randall left the office, took a deep breath, and headed toward Zephyr's courtyard.
"Big Brother Randall!"
Christa spotted Randall the moment he pushed open the gate.
A smile brighter than any flower blossomed on her face, and she ran toward him.
But halfway there, Christa suddenly froze.
"What's wrong, Little Crystal?"
Randall asked in concern, hurrying over to her.
He thought something had gone wrong with her health.
Instead, Christa looked on the verge of tears as she patted Randall's leg and said:
"You're under so much pressure, Big Brother Randall!"
