Over the next few days, more and more pirates arrived in Totto Land.
There was no blood. The sea was spotless, with scarcely even a scrap of wreckage to be seen.
The pirates, along with their arrogant dreams, had all been reduced to ash.
And so, half a month passed.
During those two weeks, the unease in pirate circles was practically palpable.
Not every pirate was so desperate for quick gains that they would throw their lives away for a little profit.
They were all waiting for news from the first wave of pirates who had gone to Totto Land.
They might end up with nothing but scraps that way, but testing the waters before taking the plunge put their minds at ease.
Who could have known that they would end up waiting half a month?
And none of the pirates who had gone to Totto Land ever came back out.
Strangest of all, not a single piece of news came out of Totto Land.
Rather than a place where gold and fame were theirs for the taking, Totto Land seemed like the gaping maw of a giant beast.
With that, most of the pirates backed down.
A small minority, however, believed the pirates who had entered Totto Land wanted all the profits for themselves and had deliberately cut off the flow of information.
Instead of hesitating any longer, they headed straight in.
And they followed their predecessors to the same fate.
By now, far fewer pirates were entering the Totto Land Waters than before.
They scarcely came in any significant numbers anymore.
So Randall could no longer be bothered to act, leaving Aequus and Christa to get some practice instead.
During that battle, the shock Christa had suffered had pushed her beyond her limits.
