Ch. 341The Sinnoh journey began
Plot points and events
- Liu Qing arrives in Sunyshore City, Sinnoh, and registers for the Sinnoh League. Nurse Joy warns him that the competition is already three months underway and that Sunyshore Gym leader Volkner is considered Sinnoh’s strongest Gym Trainer.
- Liu calls his mother, Mili, who repeats the warning about Volkner. Liu insists that challenging strong opponents is part of his goal and asks her to send Togekiss, Volcarona, and Roserade to join him.
- After receiving the Pokémon, Liu trains with them at the Pokémon Center. He tests Volcarona’s newly learned Confusion by having it redirect Togekiss’s Shock Wave toward Roserade’s Petal Dance. The three successfully work together and regain their coordination.
- Meanwhile, Mili tells Liu’s father, Bofeng Yu, that Liu plans to challenge Volkner the next day. Bofeng decides to travel to Sinnoh immediately, saying he wants to ensure things go as planned.
- Liu explores the city, eats at a well-known pastry shop, and returns to the Pokémon Center eager for the battle ahead, unaware that his father is on his way.
Character developments and interactions
- Liu is confident and determined, choosing to face Volkner despite repeated cautions. He also shows care for his Pokémon by taking time to reconnect and train with them before battling.
- Nurse Joy is welcoming and helpful, though she privately wonders whether Liu resembles Volkner.
- Mili supports Liu and helps transfer his Pokémon, but her surprise and strained reassurance suggest she may underestimate how much he has grown.
- Bofeng is protective and cautious: despite trusting Liu’s promise, he decides to go to Sinnoh himself.
- Liu’s warm reunion with Togekiss, Volcarona, and Roserade, and their successful training, re-establishes their bond and teamwork.
